Envi

One word. Grim.

I first visited this building when it was the shabby One 4 pool hall. For some reason, probably because there was an offer on that appealed to our rigid frugality, we bought cocktails that made us look like we just stepped off a float from San Francisco Pride. Bear in mind this was in a pool hall. It’s a wonder we weren’t battered there and then.
Now there’s a new club taking up the building. The One 4 is out and Envi is in. I can’t say it’s much of an improvement. This is a recent annexe to the garish, pulsing clubland of Concert Square round the corner. The interior is all trendy and that and the staff were indeed quite friendly but the customers all bear the same rough scowl that you find carved onto every head in a place like this.
