In keeping with the Woolton tradition of putting Liverpool’s other pubs to shame, the County Court is lovely. It’s appealing to look at without being palatial or sterile and the locals are rambling in such a way that it sounds scripted. I came here straight after work and found it a relaxing tranquil place to take the edge off. This is a good old-fashioned beer house of thick curtains and heavy furniture. I’d have no problems in shuffling along to this pub in eight decades time. Oh, who am I kidding I’ll do it now.

A decent Victorian corner local in Woolton village with a small, comfortable lounge at the front and bar at the back. It has a small selection of real ales on tap, which were decently kept. Very friendly landlady, though our beers needed topping up first time — but were poured to perfection second time around. It gets a mixed crowd of mainly locals.
