I came here last night for the first time and really enjoyed sitting in the beer garden with friends. Atmosphere of this place is lovely

Good standard chain pub. Good beer at good prices. Buckets of decent enough pub food, also at good prices. Nice big beer garden.

Very friendly staff! stays open quite late.

A nice clean pub close to Linclon Cathedral

A Marston’s owned pub, they have decent prices and seem to be the popular pre-​party pub on Saturday nights before everybody heads down Steep Hill to the bars and clubs in the High Street. Also one of, if not the oldest, pub buildings (not the institution itself) in Lincoln. If you’re on a budget, it’s a good place to get food and drink, though with a little extra searching, you can find more authentic, non-​chain places in Lincoln for decent prices.

A cosy old pub in the Bail.
it is deceptively large with loads of nooks and crannies, in a charming old building.
It has its origins dating back to 1549 and was formerly known as the Earl of Scarborough Arms.
The Lion & Snake claims to have at least two ghosts.
One takes the form of an old woman with her grey hair tied up in a bun — she is said to look completely solid and has been mistaken for a real person on one occassion.
Another entity takes the form of a scruffy man, and has been observed vanishing through a solid wall.
Can get busy during the tourist season as it is close to all the Upper Hill attractions. it also seems to be an after work haunt of the security men from the Castle courts. Quiz night is Tuesday.
There is quite a range of decent food in this pub that has lots of character, comfort and a warm atmosphere. it may be a little shabby but that is part of the charm.
Bit scary but they appear to have regular speed dating nights now for £20 eek.
