The quality of food is what earns this place all the stars. It is such high quality and flavoursome. Some slightly more unique mixtures of flavour than your standard Italian restaurant but it still has all the favourites. They were showing a silent movie on one of the walls when I went which was just lovely to glance at while people watching with my friend. They do one odd thing with the table settings, when on a small table for two you sit next to each other facing the restaurant rather than facing each other. No bad thing just different…

Absolutely loved the pizza! It’s a small slice of Italy in Leeds. Price of food is great for the portion sizes. Will be coming back again!

The food here was quite good — I had the lasagne, my wife had arrabiata. Mine was excellent, my wife’s was fine — not exciting. The service was fine, the waitstaff were friendly, but they were super slow, especially given there were almost no other tables occupied. I would go back for the food, but if I were in a hurry I might think twice.

I went here with my wife and another couple from work, after hearing good things from other people. When we first walked in being that there was only one other table in i didn’t feel too hopeful. When the waiter came to take our drinks order he managed to forget one and we had to ask 2 other times. The starters came out fairly prompt after the bread basket and ordering and they were great. I had egg with asparagus rolled in parma ham. The main dishes we all got were fantastic as well I selected sea bass pasta and it was great the only issue was the size it was a little small for my self but for my wife would’ve been perfect. The main service issues came after the mains, it took them a while to clear the plates longer to give desert menus and forever to get the bill. If the service had been better I would quite happily have given them 5 stars. They need to learn to smile a bit as well. Overall great food, long service time but gave us more time to talk to each other and good prices.

I only just noticed that I wrote a review for this place over a year ago, and I’ve been back so many times & always enjoyed it. My last review was pretty brief, so it seems only fitting that I give an update on it. Primo has a very mostly traditional Italian menu, as you would expect from an authentic kitchen staff & Italian head chef, so the range of fresh pasta dishes & flat base pizza is exactly as you would hope for, and without any chance of disappointment. As a personal recommendation I’d always suggest trying the wild mushroom risotto if it’s available on the specials, my all time favourite dish from here! The staff are always very friendly & attentive, without that annoying overbearing feeling that you can get where the service politeness is forced — these guys n gals are great. Primo had quite a refurb a while ago, but it’s kept a very clean minimalistic appearance to the venue, yet avoiding an impersonal or uncomfortable feeling. From my experience this is the very best Italian in Leeds centre!
