As with so many curry restaurants, the starters are nice but the main courses are mediocre. Absolutely nothing to write home about and through the week there is *always* some lacklustre ‘all you can eat’ buffet being served. What finally put me off this restaurant after a few visits was the smell :-/ It was busy one evening and I was ushered down to the far end of the restaurant near the kitchens and toilets. The stench from the toilets put me off my meal and I almost left it.

Its starting to become an addiction, was there yesterday and we were spellbound like never before… (Gosh! i guess i wont be able to add more reviews to this place for I feel readers might think its a spam to get good rating for the place.) Anyways here is all I can say, you want finger licking food and you considering this place, look no further you will love it… \,/

The other morning I was stood in front of a full length mirror and two things became immediately apparent to me. The first was that corduroy should never be worn again, ever. The second was what the Hell happened to my six pack, it’s a damn barrel! The former was a style choice that really shouldn’t be repeated but the latter was the result, not exclusively, but definitely inclusively because of this particular Indian restaurant. Take it from someone who isn’t a stranger in the ways of the Indian this place is stupendous. The quality of the meals is amazing. The price is a little higher than your average for a takeaway but it is worth every penny. It also helps that it’s two doors up from where I live, and there’s a bar inbetween!

Well, I love curry. Not the too spicy ones as they make my mouth tingle that bit too much for my liking, but a good tasty one. Sometimes veggie, other times chicken, generally with onions. Nawaab Khan gives me just what I want. Along with friendly timely service, what more could I want from an evening with curry & friends. Great value and variety.

Some days you just don’t want to cook. I didn’t really have anything to cobble together in the cupboards and it seemed that there was only one thing on my mind for the evening: take away. After considering fish and chips, having not had any for ages, I suddenly remembered having perused the menu at Nawaab Khan previously(since reading Tyler’s review) and that was that. My housemate opted in on the deal and we leaned over the Just Eat menu in anticipation. There’s a lot on it. And it seems to be pretty varied, with plenty of exotic dishes listed to boot. Some time ago a friend ordered a Makhani in a restaurant and ever since I’d been hankering to try it, so that was pretty much my mind made up as soon as I spotted that option. Being a greedy thing, and having not eaten much during the day, I opted for mushroom rice and chips to accompany! Bang on 8pm, to the second, our food arrived just as had been promised by the website! And the chap was rather friendly to boot. All good so far. Then came the food… Upon opening my dish my immediate thought was that the portions weren’t as generous as I’d hoped. However, that was my eyes pretending to be larger than my stomach. The portion was vast like an ocean, so much so that I simply couldn’t finish. In spite of eating for what felt like an entire hour I still had half the rice and three pieces of chicken on my plate! One portion of chips alone feeds two and the rice and main meal together was more than enough for one. The dish was creamy, delicately spiced, with plenty of nuts and absolutely gorgeous. The mushroom rice was full of mushrooms, which was really pleasing as some folk skimp on that, and the chicken itself had clearly been spiced and/or marinated as well. It turns out it was a little spicier than expected, but that was a bonus, and the actual chicken pieces themselves were gargantuan. Price wise that little beaut cost me in the region of £11, which is about in line with the other places. You can get more for less if you opt for Chinese, but I’d say the quality here is much higher! All in all it was a right royal feast and I was in that special place you go to when delighting over a good take away. Nom.

A new and welcomed addition to the just– eat family. Wanted to try something new so I sat and stared at their menu on the website for half an hour. I went with the selection of chefs special which cost around 14.95 which I thought was expensive at the time but when the food arrived I was sorely mistaken. This selection came with 6 different dishes looked like 2 chicken 2 lamb and 2 veggie curries all were very tasty and were enough to feed 4 but being the proper fatty that I am it only feed 3. We had to get one more dish because they won’t deliver to anywhere under 15 pounds so we ordered some lamb chops which were seasoned beautifully and cooked very well think melt in your mouth good. Now you don’t get the choice in the mini buffet but it’s worth a try if your into trying something new. The only drawback was I have no idea which food was which so if you liked the food you couldn’t just order that particular dish so that’s why the 4 star rating, if they would have just labeled the dishes it would have got the glowing 5 star rating the food deserved!

Nawaab Khan claims to be ‘probably the best curry in Yorkshire’ and ‘recognised as one of the best restaurants in Leeds’. Although it is pleasant enough restaurant, I think they are being slightly too ambitious. The restaurant is large with plenty of space between the tables and a capacity to seat 110 but when I went in on a Monday night to pick up a takeaway it was pretty empty. The service was fast and friendly, it took 20 minutes for a take away and you get 10% off the order, they deliver for free orders over £10 in a 3 mile radius. The curries were nice, plenty of sauce and spice but I was a little let down by the rice.(I didn’t mean that to rhyme)
