Holland & Barrett

This Holland and Barrett branch is a bit small and easily missed in the Merrion Centre which is surprising given the number of other health food shops in Leeds. I would have thought there is more of a demand for it. I only realised it was there recently and was pleased to discover that on the gluten-​free items I like it is cheaper than the independent health food shops such as Out of this World and Millies Organics. They have some good deals on other foods too like peanut butter with 55% off! As a peanut butter fan I loved this find.
They have a large range of health supplements helpfully arranged in to categories such as ‘digestive health’ and ‘women’s health’, for any non-​experts i.e. most of us!

I’m not really all that knowledgeable about health food shops and multi vitamins and the like but my friend told me to buy some super max strength evening primrose oil capsules on account of I apparently turn into a mentalist around my, erm, well, lady days, and they help.
So I went in here, and was immediately greeted by a moustachio’d man shouting ‘HELLO!’ at the top of his voice, in my face. Nice.
I found what I was after, went to pay, then got shouted at for not buying another bottle because ‘IT’S BUY ONE GET ONE HALF PRICE, YOU KNOW! MIX AND MATCH!’ except the funny thing was, none of this was done in a friendly manner. I was actually being berated. And I was hungover and weak so thought I’d buy some multivitamins, as I was too feeble to argue with the strange shouty man. Then I realised I know nothing about multi vitamins, particularly when they’re called everything but ‘multi vitamins’, so after taking what was apparently too long to choose my half price purchase, the moustache man came over and shouted at me again to see if he could ‘HELP OR SOMETHING?’ and I asked him just for normal multi vitamins, and he shouted ‘THEY’RE HERE?’ with that going up bit at the end like it was a question and like I was a retard for not knowing that.
So I ended up buying mutli vitamins that actually help bulk up muscle, for weightlifters. You know, just what I’m after. They’re in a drawer and will never be used.
Thank you, shouty moustache man, I shall never come to your shop again.
