Had a great burrito out of here! I went for the small burrito with the rice, beans and spicy chicken. I also got the hot sauce and it really wasn’t that hot! My boyfriend for the regular burrito with 2 servings of beef and he loved it. Great little place when wanting a quick lunch.

You could easily mistake this for Chipotle in London save for the size of the venue and the prices. Same ethos is serving fresh locally source ingredients, same simple excellent food but you know. this places just edges the UK flagship of the US chain. The burritos are substantial and fresh where Chipotle London comes up short. Prices are reasonable and the all you can drink soft drinks a steal at £1.50. A recommended venue for good burritos

Well, it couldn’t be more apt to say, ‘Meh. I’ve experienced better.’ It was fine. There wasn’t anything drastically wrong with the place, but it really wasn’t about to set my world on fire. I like that they’re a fast food company with a bit of a conscience — the wall declared there’s no ‘funny’ stuff in the food, but that doesn’t mean it was a rollickingly good burrito, and no amounts of cute donkey pictures will change that. The service from the counter was middling — one of the girls, at the lower end, was lovely, the other couldn’t have cared less. And, I imagine wrapping burritos isn’t a wildly interesting thing to do, but a small smile rather than a sigh would have been nice. If you know Subway, or similar outlets, you’ll know the system. Pick your base product, pick your filling, pick your salad and accoutrements. I went for a basic burrito with pulled pork, and whilst that was fine, it wasn’t great. The rice was a little much and the rest a little less — I couldn’t really taste the cheese. And the pork had been sat there a while, so was inevitably a little dry around the edges from the hot plate. I ate in, for convenience since it was so cold out, but couldn’t have stayed more than 10 minutes — it’s not atmospheric. Everything was fine, and I’d potentially come back for food in a rush, but the £9(or there abouts) for fast food didn’t seem worth it to me. I’ve definitely had better Mexican elsewhere in Leeds! Still. Better than some other places, and much less ‘processed’ fillings.

I’m a huge fan of burritos — they’re my favorite lunch option in London and i had some fantastic ones on a recent trip to California and Mexico. Unfortunately this was by a long, long way the worst one i can remember having. It was completely an utterly flavorless(including their ‘hot’ salsa). I’m still not sure how you can combine that variety of ingredients and have that little taste. If the One Show had a taste, it would be this buritto

I tried the Mexican food here and while I was slightly dissappointed with the variety on offer, the stuff we ordered were good enough. I would feel they aer a little overpriced and if I may dare to say, bland. We ordered the burrito and tacos. The staff are cheerful but well not very bothered imho. It would be my place to go for a mexican fast food option but given a choice, I’d probably pick another place. The ambience is calm and relaxing and there is a huge board if you cant read the details on the paper in your tray to educate you about burritos and how they are the top 5 best chain or the best 20 locations for food.

This was the first Mexican food experience I had in Leeds. As an American, I had already been hugely disappointed in UK mexican food. But I was hopeful this time because barburrito has great branding and seems to have lifted a lot of their food philosophy from Chipotle(not a bad thing at all)! I anxiously went through the burrito assembly line, salivating all the way. When I finally sunk my teeth into the first bite of barburrito… my heart sunk. What a fool I was to think that mexican food might actually taste good in the UK. The ingredients were very«fresh» tasting, which is a huge plus, but there was no spice to it. It was like bland tasteless meat topped off with fresh vegetables. Normally I’d be willing to consider this place as a possibility for a quick bite if I wasn’t too concerned about taste, but the price doesn’t sit well with me at all. Real mexican food is cheap. I understand a lot of the ingredients aren’t as common here in the UK, but the cost is about twice as much as you’d pay for a much MUCH better product in America. Sadly, this place is on my blacklist until some desperate fever-stricken search for speedy mexican food tricks me into spending far too much for far too little flavour.

I really like this place due to the fact I can finally have a Gluten Free quick snack in town. It follows the same system as subway you pick what you want they do it. The quality however is much better than subway and I can no longer eat at subway so this place for me is brilliant. Good food and nice staff. Is more expensive than subway though but you do get a lot. (Regular Customer)

If McDonald’s did Mexican it could be like this, only better! Why every optional addition has to thrown on by a barely understood staff member I cant say. Turn the music down! Why no coffee? Relatively expensive and not very enjoyable. Will I be back? Absolutely not.

To call Barburrito the«Mexican Subway» is an insult. I don’t eat fast food because the quality is usually disgusting, that’s not true of this place at all. The food is always really good, ace value and FINALLY I have somewhere to go if I need something fast, tasty and good value.

I visited here today and was quite impressed. The Staff were friendly and helpful although a little too lax( Found the burrito to be really tasty and fresh, although was less than impressed by the neither hot nor cold temperature of the so called«hot foods» It was far more filling than I had anticipated although the place was rather untidy, most of the tables needed a good wipe down and this had obviously gone unnoticed by the entire Team. Not warm inside and the door was wide open( I would say a little over priced and there was room for improvement a few areas(

Sadly, I don’t agree with John. Why is it a Mexican Subway? 1) The quality of the ingredients is basically the same. 2) You can get a wrap at Subway with a side of nachos with melted cheese. 3) Subway and Barburrito both serve their food in the exact same paper lined plastic bowl. The only difference is the colour of the bowls! 4) Both places offer refills of fountain soda. 5) Yes the burrito is big, maybe bigger than a 6″ sub but not as big as a foot long sub. 6) They both have loyalty cards 7) As for staff friendliness the process of making the food has the same outcome, staff that sound like robots! 8) As for the grill, all I’ll say is that Burger King also use one! Don’t get me wrong I like Barburrito but I can’t get excited about it. One day it will become the British equivalent, maybe in slightly higher esteem, of that of Taco Bell in the United States! Sorry!

The UK has a lack of Mexican cuisine. This is true. I do believe, though, that Barburrito is a decent step in the right direction. Though Barburrito is not quite like your Southern Californian Pedro’s Tacos or a food cart in Mexico, for that matter, they do an earnestly decent job. One drawback is that it could definitely be cheaper, as honest-to-God Mexican food is certainly not meant to be as pricy as it comes in Barburrito. Though at the time that I visited, their employees couldn’t quite wrap burritos – it was actually really endearing to watch, but after a couple seconds I wanted to lean over the counter and help them – they have all the right ingredients and, like Chipotle, deliver their sizeable burritos in aluminium foil to bring a good meal.
