Well below average. Come on guys, burritos are not hard to do well. Food was over cooked, service was quick but perfunctory — and why on earth can’t I have the mushrooms and peppers? It’s not like they explode when mixed. Burritos are one of my favourite foods. I’ve eaten them everywhere from Mission St to Warsaw. I was going to suggest a couple for the people from Barburrito to visit but honestly, any of them would be an improvement.

I am a little confused on my rating of this place. I have been here about 4 – 5 times and it seems the place knows how to alternate between good and bad service. I went there on a couple of evenings and the service was perfectly fine and impressive. I was happy with the quantity being served in my Burrito which was just perfect bearing in mind that the servings are generally very small. Quite chuffed with the service, I dared to ignore Matt P.‘s reviews and went there on a lunch time on a couple of occassions and it felt like Deja Vu. The service was absolutely appauling and customers were waiting for a long time and something or the other would constantly run out. There were about 5 – 6 people on the serving counters but it was just chaotic reminding you of the old adage too many cooks spoil the broth. The staff felt undertrained and what was worse was they even try to pinch a few extra pennies off you. We walked in with a coupon for a £4 burrito and we asked the staff member distributing them if it would be fine if 1 of 2 people have it and they would honour it and were told yes but they didnt do that at the counter. To make matters worse, you end up being charged for what you havent added to your order. It was the watchful eye of my friend who noticed it and realised we were both charged £1.25 per person for extras we had not even opted for. Raise it with the staff and get a grumpy look indicating why are you creating such a fuss on £2?

The more and more I return here, the less and and less impressed I generally get with it. So my original review was a one star, based on some truly awful service and staff, and if I’m honest(which I always am) it has got better, and the service has somewhat improved(somewhat at the expense of their first store in Leeds) — BUT — not very quickly and not very consistently. Still the staff don’t seem to understand the basics of a burrito or even how to listen to customers — I hate having to repeat myself once, the two or three times that it often takes here is ridiculous(or maybe I mumble?). Too often there are huge queues with the staff just sheeplike creating more and more meals to go cold as the line goes down. I honestly wish this place wasn’t as close to work as it is, because all too often in my laziness I walk in, and all too often I’m completely unimpressed.
