Allesandrrrrrrrrrrrroo Da Piero!!! I have a soft spot, it has remained soft since 1995 the first time I had the pleasure of watching the football genius of a certain Allessandro Del Piero. I did everything short of worship him. He inspired me, ignited a passion, drive and zest of the Italian way of living in me. Ever since that moment I have become an adopted blue. I support the team in World cups, after our speedy exits of course. I love Italian food, Italian women, Italian cars and … well… that’s where it pretty much stops, but still!
Authentic Italian restaurants are never and can never be bad restaurants. It isn’t possible. Sure you may have been to bad ones, but I can bet you they were pretenders! Third generation Brits trying to cash in, I have an Italian grandmother rubbish! Why? Because authentic Italian restaurants are owned by close knit families who have food and the passion for food in the blood. They live for it, they cook it and they eat it, all you are doing is joining them at dinner. That is the philosophy. Trust me, I know, I’m friends with one such owner.
Da Piero captures it all… The food is fantastic and the service is immaculate. Highly recommended!
