Never eaten in place so can’t comment on Food but had a great evening dancing to good music.

Appalling service and poor quality food. We went this afternoon for lunch(13AUG11) with mt partner and family. We were served four dishes out of the six ordered after a 40 minute wait, and then were told the other two were on their way. 20 minutes later we had finished the first four dishes and the other two dishes had still not been delivered. Eventually after 1hr 10 minutes two more plates arrived only for one of them not what we had ordered, we asked for rump steak and were served a beef and horseradish panini which we sent back and told them to cancel the steak as we didn’t want to wait for another hour for that to arrive. When it came to paying the bill they turned round and said ‘we won’t charge you for the rump steak’ I was amazed to think they were even considering charging us for it considering it never even turned up. Absolutely appalling service and management, if they carry on like this it will be closed down before winter, plenty of alternative and nicer places to eat in the area so would avoid it like the plague!!!

Occupying the spot that Tootsies used to have, Degero is a bistro/eaterie type place during the day and a bar/club in the evenings. Although I haven’t been there in the evening, it looks like a pretty lively place. I have been there at lunchtime(during good weather). The layout is well-thought out and conducive to a pleasant lunchtime. The staff are friendly and pleasantly quick. The lunchtime menu, while not hugely extensive, has a decent range of items including veggie friendly dishes. I opted for a steak sandwich, which was absolutely fine. My wife had a panini which was equally well-received. Another bonus was that the prices were pretty reasonable. The good thing about Degero is that it is close to the town centre while just far enough away to prevent it being standing-room only. We had no trouble getting a table and rapid service on a warm Saturday afternoon. We will definitely visit Degero’s again.
