Located on the sea front next to the King Alfred leisure centre, this is a nice, quiet local pub. The Alibi is particularly good because of all the events that get put on here, ranging from live music to comedy and old classics like the pub quiz. I’ve only visited for Tuesday’s quiz night, where I enjoyed a relatively nice atmosphere and relatively cheap drinks(less than £3 for a pint of ale). For the sporting fans out there, The Alibi also shows all major sporting events, having coverage of both ESPN and Sky Sports.

A decent little pub next to the King Alfred Leisure centre, The Alibi serves its customer base well. There’s loads of events, as there’s something on pretty much everyday of the week. The best of these is probably Tuesday’s quiz night that’s not too difficult. The prices are average as is the drinks selection. They show most major sporting events and as such have cater to a mixed crowd. This is what gives it the middle-of-the-road feel but that said, it isn’t bad at all.

The Alibi is a bit out of the way, its on the seafront(ish) but right on the edge of Hove on route to Portslade. There a re few other small businesses around there but I imagine most of the clientele are very local. The have a beer garden and offer BBQs in the summer(woop), as well as an array of regular nights like quizs etc. Its would be a great little local to have on route to the beach but I cant say I would venture out that way especially.

This popular little place has regular special nights that are all worth going to. While it’s not the classiest of joints it’s definitely better than most. Being further out of town The Alibi has to ensure repeat business by packing in the events. For example, Monday night is Chilli night, Tuesday: Quiz, Wednesday: Pizza night, Thurs: Live music, Friday: comedy and every 2nd and 4th Friday it’s Karaōke night. Obviously you aren’t going to run out of things to do here but the pub itself just doesn’t have a great atmosphere. Something about the room makes you feel like you’re awkwardly stuck somewhere between chain pub and traditional pub. It’s not bad but it just won’t give you any resounding memories.

The Alibi a fair mish out of town, its in the little row of shops and buisnesses out by Hove swimming baths, so its unlikely you’ll stumble across it unless you live in the area. They have a great suntrap garden, where they have BBQs in the summer month could. They have a gorgeous home made pub grub menu which never disappoints. They have regular quiz nights, comedy night and live music night which are advertised around the venue. It a great little pub but not worth missioning out of town for.
