Best airline and Seating on the newest business class. All the crews are very friendly. So amazing

First off, I want to mention that I have been flying Singapore for a long time and they are typically good. However this time, my experience this time has been on par with some of my worst flying experiences.
Not to mention, I am on my honeymoon as I am writing this.
So here is the deal,
1) Flying out IAD. The SIA website was having trouble checking me in so it told me to check in at the airport. At the airport, the seats did not match my reservation for my connecting flight at LHR. Requested change but told to do it in London. Mentioned that I have done it from IAD before but apparently they have a new system that doesn’t allow that.
2) London — Lady at transfer desk was clueless on what we were requesting and kept calling «someone» but told to come back. After three attempts, told us we can only do it at the gate.
3) Yes you guessed it. The gate said we should have changed it earlier and it was too late.
My biggest grief was not that I can’t sit next to my wife during the 14 hour flight to Singapore from Heathrow (although it is pretty high up there). What unsettled me the most was the lack of customer service that I have come to expect from Singapore airlines.
I used to tell my friends that SIA is worth the extra couple hundred dollar. Now I am not so sure…

Leading airline in the world often with the newest aircraft and best services on board ranging from meals, entertainment and crews. While all is great up in the air, they need to polish their ground services. Recently launched a new website that’s a total flop and outsourcing their call centre to a bunch of untrained csr! I am great supported of SQ and am a PPS member, however I often have to call them to change my itinerary and often or not they would manage to screw it up further!
I am giving 4stars for their plane and onboard services!

This is my first Unilocal review written in Malaysia! I’ve just flown home to visit my parents.
I’ve always stated that Singapore Airlines is my favourite airline but I’ve not actually flown with them for 3 years. So, it was nice to come back to an old favourite to find that it still lives up to all my rose-​tinted memories.
I travelled on their new double-​decker A380. Instead of stuffing the aircraft full of the theoretical maximum 800 seats, Singapore Airlines have configured the plane to hold 471 passengers in 4 classes — Suites, First Class, Business Class and economy. Now, not being a fat cat like Tony Blair, I flew economy but was pleased to find that the rear cabin of the upper deck is economy class — I managed to snag a seat in the upper deck cabin.

which tells you which the good seats are on an aicraft — the site is divided by airline and then the airline’s aircraft.
I was excited to board the upper deck and we had to walk through the Business Class cabin to get there — well, if those were business class seats, First Class and Suites must be palatial. The business class seats were bigger than the First Class I’ve seen on other carriers.
The economy cabin seemed more spacious than on 747s — the seat width is wider though the seat pitch (distance to the seat in front of you) is a staandard 32 inches. The upper deck is configured in a 2−4−2 seat formation, which also makes it seem less crowded but the main deck economy cabin is in a more familiar 3−4−3 seat configuration. The window seats also have a shelf to rest things on.
The entertaiment is state of the art and easily the best on any aircraft I’ve been on — huge 10.6 inch diagonal TV screen with high def picture. You also have ports to allow you to connect a USB stick or media player to play your own movies or photos onto the screen. There’s a huge selection of movies (including flims still on in the cinema), TV shows, music and games to keep you entertained as well as more cerebral pastimes such as language programs to help you learn new languages. In fact, I wanted the flight to last longer so that I could make more use of the entertainment system.
The seat was comfortable and I slept easily. There are little touches like small reading lights — the ceiling reading lights sometimes throw shadows.
However, the main attraction of Singapore Airlines is the service. There is a natural and genuine warmth to the welcome that you receive and they look after you well. On the A380, I was able to hang out and chat to the cabin staff in the rear galley about the plane and their favorite cities in the world etc. By the way, there’s a also a staircase at the rear of the cabin that you can go between the upper and main decks.
In an era of financial cutbacks in the aviation industry, it’s nice to see that Singapore airlines have still retained the little extras which show class — proper hot towels at the start of the flight, Givenchy bags containing complimentary toiletries and menus offering genuine choice and food which doesn’t taste like airline food.
Singapore Changi Airport is another huge plus for Singapore Airlines. After the cramped horror Heathrow where they seem to want to bleed you dry, it’s so nice to arrive at Changi with free internet, free movie theatre, free city tour if your transit is longer than 5 hours, free nature trails, butterfly farm and orchid exhibits, free gaming area, free foot massages and a swimming pool. The retail and restaurant area puts to shame many malls in the UK.
Singapore Airlines, I salute you. Your position as my favourite airline is well earned!

I am quite surprised that I am the first person to write a review for Singapore Airlines (SQ) for London, UK. I had the fabulous opportunity to fly SQ in their new Business Class cabin on board the world’s newest and largest aircraft, Airbus Industrie’s 380.
As always, check-​in and boarding were a breeze. The flight attendants were very gracious and genuinely attentive. Unlike most carriers that advertise that flight attendants are there for your safety (I am sure we are all smart enough to realise this), you are not going to hear such jabs on board SQ. I didn’t even have to ask for pre-​flight champagne, it was already offered before I could think about it.
I was seated in the upper deck where the seats were in a unique 1−2−1 configuration. This means that everyone has direct access to an aisle. The seats are also the widest widest in its class at 34 inches (approximately 86 cm). The entertainment system was audio-​video on demand with loads of films, music, and games. The TV screen was LCD and 15.4 inches (about 39 cm) wide. I was also given a noise-​cancelling headphone to fully enjoy the entertainment system.
Another item that is superlative is the food quality. How many countless jokes have we all heard about airline food? The food served during the flight were all meticulously prepared and most definitely fine restaurant quality. You have a choice of Western or Asian meals. In fact, if you want to know exactly what you are going to have for your main courses, you can order your meals online prior to your flight courtesy of SQ’s «Book the Cook» programme.
So I was pampered the entire flight. I ate, drank, slept, saw a film, ate, drank, slept, and so on. The «old» SQ was already way ahead of the competition. This new version of SQ is even better. I can’t even imagine how much better it could get. Maybe I should have chatted with the folks in first class. In the end, I had to get off the plane. It didn’t even feel like I flew for 12 hours. Fantastic job SQ! You will see me in one of your aircrafts again.
