Lunch at Jeremys was an absurdly glorious way to welcome in the spring. The views are amazing and we were lucky enough that the weather allowed us to sit outside. The meal begins with a tray of delicious bread. Baked on the premises they also sell loaves in the café next door.(We took one home it was so good) Whilst waiting for starters we were served delicious little Brie canapés. Starter was the crab sushi and tempura vegetable. The sushi was fresh and tangy, the tempura was amazing! The main course was fresh tagliatelle with fennel and lemon. Perfectly sized, flavoursome, portions. Dessert was the toffiest, sticky toffee pudding I have ever had. Absolutely swimming in a bowl of cream and toffee sauce. Home made jellies and fudge completed what was an incredible dining experience. Would definitively return, for the views, the food, and the excellent service.

Summer time is just perfect at Jeremy’s…sitting out on the terrace is like grabbing a bit of Provence in the heart of Sussex. I love Jeremy’s and always have, it is consistent, the staff are always so warm and friendly and nothing is too much particular as my dining companion was determined to chop and change between the menus, ask for non-dairy sauces and the like. The really good value menu of the day means we don’t have to just go to Jeremy’s for a treat either!

Favourite restaurant in Britain absolutely impeccable food. I eat in London all the time and not many of the«top» restaurants come close. Great service from friendly unpretentious staff too.

If you want to take people out for dinner with the view to impress, then this is where you should be going. Set in the Borde Hill Gardens, I can’t think of a single restaurant in the area that will rival Jeremy’s for quality. Take a quality London restaurant and relocate it in Haywards heath and this is the result. Thankfully, the saying that ‘you get what you pay for’ holds up well here. I was a chef for 10 years and having eaten here once(luckily someone treated me so i escaped the bill) i was mightily impressed by the menu and wines. Jeremy will usually be about for most chef’s heading up the kitchen and this means that the quality is consistent. His wife Vera is of Scandinavian descent and you can see the influence of French, Italian, Spanish and Nordic cuisine in the menu. There are also a myriad of events and ways you can dine. There are Jazz nights on Monday which would be a cool way to dine at the restaurant and many multiple course’offer’s. Whilst these aren’t going to be cheap, you will get to experience the full range of a very professional chef plying his trade over a wide range of dishes. What you should really get excited about is the wine. Again, it will cost you but they source from some excellent continental vineyards directly and some of the bottles may really reinvent your understanding of wine. I could go on about this place for a long time, but have a look on the website at some of the dishes and you will get what I mean. Food this good in a setting as nice as Borde Hill. How could you go wrong!!!

This is, in my opinion, the best restaurant in Sussex. Okay, I haven’t tried them all but I have tried a few including the Michelin-starred Ockenden Manor and Jeremy’s knocks spots off that! The staff are knowledgable and friendly without being intrusive or familiar. The food defies description but if you want a real treat, go on a Tuesday night and opt for the degustation. I promise you’ll not be disappointed. 11 out of 10 from me!

Jeremy and his wife Vera have owned this establishment since 1998 and have transformed it into a very successful business indeed. This is fine dining in the countryside at its best. Its by no way cheap but if you want a special night out you won’t find a better place within a large radius. The last time I ate there I had Confit of local cod, puy lentils, shallots in red wine for starters followed by Loin and pie of Balcombe Estate venison, cauliflower cheese, Maderia jus. Sounds nice doesn’t it! A close friend of mine got married there recently and had such a beautiful day. The grounds are really charming and the whole place has such a lovely atmosphere. A very special place!

This restaurant is quite local for me and is located next to Borde Hill Gardens. I have eaten here on 3 quite different occasions — a wedding, a small Christmas party and a family birthday. My experiences have been very similar though. The modern French/English menu is good and represents good value. The seating area is a little cramped I think and when full is quite noisy — especially at Christmas — and everyone then tends to shout at each other. The staff are good — many of them French. There is not the sense of occasion here but then again it is cheaper than some other local alternatives and the food is worth it. However, this is a very good setting for a wedding — normally with a marquee on the patio. There is a lawned area and some great photo locations within the gardens. Overall, a good place to eat but if you want a special treat splash out on a local manor houses.

Located at Borde Hill Gardens just outside Haywards Heath, this restaurant is only accessible by car. We live pretty close, so have been a number of times for family meals and as a couple. Food is expensive modern franglais — generally pretty good, but not always quite up to the price tag. Christmas season set price menu last year was an under-performer — uninspired and over priced. A la carte was better. Wine list has a good range of options and prices. Frequented mainly by the older generation, and with tables packed tightly together Jeremys has a slightly stuffy atmosphere. Service is good but not perfect — some staff are clearly inexperienced. Also be warned that they sometimes have a pianist or Jazz group. In such a small room, this is pretty loud and makes everyone in the room shout to be heard.
