Golden Fry

This is, without a doubt, the best chip shop in Hamilton. The portion sizes are always more than we can eat and aside from the staple fish and chips they do a vast range of home cooked quality food from pizzas to pakora. They even have a website so you can see the menu and check for special deals at any time and even order on line for delivery! I drive past a lot of chip shops to go to this one because it is the best, it may not be the cheapest but the few pence extra is well worth it for the quality of the food, no pre-​packed frozen rubbish here, everything they sell is hand made with that fresh home cooked taste, you will not be disappointed!

This place is always sparkling when I go into it! Definitely the cleanest chippy in Hamilton. Staff are always smiling and are very attentive. Superb selection of food and great quality to. The new range of speciality burgers are amazing and are a meal in themselves, so full of flavour! Deliveries are never longer than 30 minutes and even the delivery drives are pleasant. The deli fridge is always full of fresh products, with a vast range of breads, baguettes and panninis. The golden fry has significantly improved.

Went a few night ago about half 10 at night, was told there were no chips! Really? No chips at a chippy. Ended up going to Divitos where they happilly made fresh chips for us.
Delivery usually takes over 45 minutes and their portions are now kind of small, they definitely do not reflect the high prices.
Furthermore, once when I ordered fish and chips, there was literally no fish, must soggy batter which was all sticking to the bottom of the box.
Until this is sorted our, Equis it is!

Well priced, big portions sold in one of the classiest chippies I’ve ever been in. Friendly staff. I love the pizza crunch suppers — they are so big you could comfortably share one.

Over priced. Poor service Food was embarassing for the price. And beware. do not complain.

Recently refurbished to an excellent standard & the choice of food is second to none.
Prices are also in line with other local chip shops but the quality of food can’t be matched.
Recommended to everyone in Hamilton as their best local Fish & Chip shop.

The food and service here is excellent. Large, inexpensive portions of everything from traditional fish and chips to chicken and vegetable pakora. Staff are friendly and efficient and it is staggering that ‘the Golden Fry’ doesn’t have a better reputation in Hamilton than Equi’s, because ‘the Golden Fry’ is everything ‘Equi’s is not.

Recently Refurbished, the Golden Fry has got a completely new lease of life. They serve a much greater range of food from Panninis to Pizza, toasties to soup and of course Fish n Chips. The shop itself is kept very clean and is bright and airy. Staff are quick to serve and attentive and there are even a few stools for people to sit and eat in. Prices are also very reasonable with choices between mini suppers as well as normal suppers.
Average fish and chip shop located beside Fillippetti’s Convenience store. Offers the usual fish suppers, deep fried pizzas and some other various fried food. This includes pakoras etc which can be bought in various deals. Prices are average and food is fairly greasy but is worth a visit if you don’t feel like going too far from the area. They also do a delivery service within the local area which is worth thinking about.
