This is my stop over before heading home if I’m ever in need of something quick or last minute. It’s within walking distance to my flat, so it’s easy to get to. A nice selection of stock available, but not as reasonable priced as other retailers in the area. Because it’s in a busy area, right beside a Uni residence hall, it’s often times jam packed with students and can get a little crazy at times with loads of people queueing to buy their goods. There are 3 self serve tills and always at least one employee running a till. One thing to note, if you ever order from Tesco Direct online, you can have your items shipped to a local tesco store for pickup for free. There’s nothing better than ordering bed linen and picking it up from a tesco express. :)

I hate you Tesco… oh! More? Since our society runs on convenience juice, Tesco have hoovered up almost every ass end corner store known to man in the GLasgow Metro area. I swear to the lord Jeebus, that I’m currently unable to walk more than 10 mins in any direction and not be met with a small/medium or large Tesco. But that’s just the way it is. Neither totally awesome or frightfully woeful, Tesco is just there and sells stuff that you need to buy, when you need to buy it. Hmmm, would that work for their next advertising campaign? Tesco, we’re there and sell stuff you need to buy, when you need to buy it… Adress the royalty cheques to Mr D.

I, too, found the selection of goods poor in here but I’m willing to put that down to a bad day given the previous Unilocaler is in here far more than me. Otherwise, this is a Tesco Metro by numbers, with the late opening hours extremely handy for the people of Partick. I also do have to agree with the view that the staff are extremely efficient and friendly — always serving you with a smile and a «hello», without ever launching into some unwanted small talk.

So we all know that we should buy our food and magazines and sweets and drinks at independent stores. We do all know this. But sometimes we just can’t be bothered — and this is pretty much where the Tesco Metro comes in. Seeing as I live approximately three minutes from this store, I do find myself here much more regularly than I would like to admit. It’s really convienient, it’s not too expensive, and contrary to Catriona’s review — it has a great variety of products. In all the months I have been frequenting this store — there have only been a handful of things that they haven’t had. Whether you’re after pasta, wine, fruit and veg or pizzas — it’s unlikely that you’ll be disappointed. Plus, the staff are really friendly and helpful. Well, at least they are to me — but that may be because I spend so much time there that they practically know me by name. Maybe I need to spread my wings a little bit.

Was a little disappointed with this store– it looks bigger from the outside and so I was a tad annoyed at the poor selection of goods. They fail to devote more than 10 cm of a shelf space to pasta and curry sauce yet they have a full aisle of magazines and chocolates? Hmmph. It also feels a bit cramped so you’ll spend your time dodging the staff as they replenish the eh, chocolates most likely. For tesco, this was an expensive shop. You pay the extra moula for the convenience I know, but they didn’t even have those 3 bottles of vino for £10 deals. Gutted. My conclusion? Good for popping in to buy a couple of essentials(or a magazine or a Terri’s Chocolate Orange), bad if you’re wanting anything more.
