Despite this being(one of) my local Chinese eateries, I’ve only ever ordered from it 3 times, and the reason; the first time, years ago, I asked for my dish without beansprouts. Three times I advised, repeated and pleaded for NOBEANSPROUTS. Get home — dish full of beansprouts. To say it ruined my meal is not an exaggeration. Second time, just last year, I decided to give them a second chance, and ordered with a set meal with a friend. Luckily, none of the dishes contained the dreaded BS. So I go for third time lucky. I go in to order my takeaway, as they’re more likely to acknowledge my no BS request in person than a note on Just Eat. The same scenario as the first visit plays out; «Can you make sure there’s no BS please. I can’t have them… onion and pepper are fine, yes. Just no BS.» Get home, dish full of BS. Dinner ruined and last time I’ll order from them.

I had always passed this place and wanted to go in, it always looks busy and the fact the windows are covered in signs written in symbols I cannot understand makes it very intruiging! I visited today and had a tom yum noodle soup bowl that comes with a big ladle spoon! Absolutely delicious and for a massive fresh tasting meal it is great value. My only(extremely minor) criticism… i was given a fork instead of chopsticks. I do enjoy throwing food about with chopsticks. However the friendly staff i’m sure would have had no issue in giving me some instead. A must visit. Go!

Since moving back West my search for a good Chinese take-away has been ongoing… I still miss Super Cook! *sob* However one of my new favourites is Crazy Wok. Now had I judged this place on the signage I probably would never have tried it… I don’t know what it it but something about it didn’t instill me with a feeling of ‘Yeah! That looks like a FINE place to eat!’ Well, I was wrong. First visit we actually went in and ordered take-away whilst waiting. What we didn’t realise that it would take quite so long… okay, it was a Saturday early evening so maybe wasn’t the best time to try & get a speedy take-away. It was nice to see the open kitchen — I like being able to see people preparing/cooking the food I am about to eat. Nothing bad to hide obviously. Good. One of the reasons I think our food took so long was I noticed them cooking everything from scratch ~ something I just didn’t expect in a Chinese take-away(I know they re-heat that shiz up). So again, that was promising for the food about to hit our gubs. The dishes. SO many dishes. I struggled to pick just one as they all sounded lovely. Great to see tofu as a main dish option also, makes a change from your usual veggie option of just vegetables in various sauces. Still yet to try the tofu dishes but I’m sure they won’t disappoint. I have tried a few dishes now and I think what I tried a few days ago is now my favourite(for the time being anyway…): Grilled Chicken Chilli(or something like that; I can’t remember the exact name) — sliced breast of chicken(nae slimy shiz) with green peppers, onions, garlic & chilli in a beautiful sauce. Fantastic. If I could add cashews, celery & mushrooms to this it would be PERFECT. This with some of their lovely fresh egg fried rice. Yum city. Every time we order take-away from here now we always seem to get a free starter(I think it’s if you order 2 or more main courses) and we go for the chicken wings which are also really nice(our cat also agrees!) Other options are vegetable spring rolls or spare ribs. I can’t wait to try more, especially from their Japanese dishes. They are a bit more expensive but they come as part of a set meal; with a starter, noodles/rice & main course. When I am feeling flush I will give one a go. Yum. Can’t wait. On a bit of a downer note a couple of times when we have ordered a take-away over the phone the lady on the other end has either not understood what we have been wanting to order(How many times do you need to say ‘GRILLEDCHICKENCHILLI’ before they understand?!) and the last time that happened the woman actually hung up on my boyfriend! So rude. Also once one of their delivery drivers told us that our flat ‘did not exist’ just because he could see out flat number past a hedge! Oh dear… on that occasion the guy got so frustrated(with US?!) and said ‘Oh, I’ll just have to TRY and find it after my next delivery…’ Err, no you won’t — you’ll just OPENYOUREYES and find our blinkin’ flat ya dafty. Grrr… anyways, aside from those staffing issues CW is a cracking wee Chinese/Asian take-away. Just maybe be prepared for some ‘problems’ when ordering over the phone…

Despite the name the woks used here are actually totally regular and look as substantial as the kind of wok one finds in TK Maxx(with up to 70% off). The food in Crazies is excellent however and fully representative of Japanese cuisine, or is it Chinese? One of them anyway. Wok’s not to like?

I’ve visited this place a few times, and I must say that Crazy Wok is by far the best Chinese I’ve found so far in Glasgow. It makes missing the Chinese food I’m used to eating in America that less painful. I love the fact that you can actually watch the chefs prepare your meals while you wait. I’ve never eaten in, but their service has always been quick and friendly. The atmosphere is modern and clean and the menu is HUGE and cheap in price. I’m hoping one day to sit in and enjoy a meal while it’s piping hot(rather than walking home with it) YUM!

Ain’t seen this place before… either i have a strange«i don’t see Chinese restaurants» form of blindness or, as is more likely to be the case, this place is new. Now, not in the mood for a sitty down meal i decided on a bit of takeaway, satay chicken and too be honest it was pretty not too bad. Taking on the style of the newer Oriental eateries, the wok has benches, is bright and has an openish kitchen. its pretty cheap in here to for what is in the main regular grub… not bad either.

Crazy Wok has popped up on Dumbarton Road(just by the Tesco Express) in the last couple of weeks. It’s a cross between a sit-in restaurant and a takeaway — and it actually pretty nicely decked out. Everything is clean and well looked after inside, and it’s a nice place to spend a mealtime! If you do opt to takeaway(as we did) you’ll be pleased to know that service is REALLY quick. I think that there were only about three minutes that passed in between ordering our food and having it presented it to us. Great if you’re feeling particularly hungry! The food at Crazy Wok is perfectly nice. Probably not going to win any awards any time soon — but really tasty and definitely hits the spot. Plus, all dishes are about £4 each — with rice/chips costing about £1.50 per portion.
