Taylor Ferguson is a genius. That is all. Taylor has been cutting hair now for the best part of 50 years, trained and worked alongside hairstyling legends, and yet he remains an absolute gentleman unaffected by big egos. I trusted him the second I met him, and he has given me a haircut that lasts 8 weeks on average which is brilliant considering I have short hair. I was previously getting it cut every 4 weeks. Then there is the amazing John who disguised the fact that my hair is quite grey and if I let it come in naturally I would look like a border collie. Great customer care and great experience all round. The price is a wee bit more than I would normally have paid, but you get what you pay for, and if that means a hassle free hairdo, and having to colour it less, I’ll take that thank you very much. Taylor’s team seem very faithful, and work very hard. If you are looking for a revamp, or the best haircut ever, go here, they do hair. And they do it very very well.

I made an appointment at Taylor Ferguson requesting a cut and colour. I’ve been busy, so my roots were pretty much at my ears, and, admittedly, my ends needed about two inches cut off.
When I entered the salon, it was pretty quiet, and Taylor greeted me, took my scarf and sat me down to discuss what I wanted. So far, so good. I had my hair quickly shampooed, and sat down for my cut. I had showed Taylor a photograph of a girl with swingy blonde hair, although I had specified it didn’t need to be quite as short. «Doesn’t it?» was Taylor’s response. I bit the bullet and had it cut a little shorter than I originally planned. It’s actually a nice cut, it makes my hair feel thick, and full, and it has good movement. As I started on my manicure, the colourist, came and discussed what I wanted in regards to my colour as Taylor looked on. I admit, my roots were down at my ears, but considering this was all virgin, untouched hair I didn’t think this would be an issue. I use Kerestase products, so my hair is in good condition — I did have some split ends, but Taylor had seen to these with the cut. At this point, I was told I couldn’t be as blonde as the pictures I had brought in. I understood that, and despite explaining that’s how blonde I normally am, Taylor was absolute and refused. Apparently my virgin hair was too sensitive.
It was at this point the cap was brought out. I have never seen something quite so hideous and tortuous. A browning rubber cap was pulled from the depths of the salon and plonked on top of my head. It was then wrestled into place, where the colourist, brandishing a crochet hook began to pull excruciating sections of hair out through holes. I was in shock. I mentioned I’d never even seen one of these, and preferred foils, but nope, my hair was too delicate for foils, so I spent 20 minutes having it tugged through the cap. Since I have quite alot of hair, the cap didn’t fit, and rode up. It was tugged down as colour was painted on the strands which had been tugged through. Uncomfortable is an understatement. My manicure was still taking place, and once the last coat of colour was applied, I was again moved back to a hairdressing chair. During the move I smudged one of my nails. «No problem» I was told, as the manicurist licked her finger and mooshed the polish around, and then painted another coat on. At this point I was nearly in tears. More formulas were painted onto the strands, and I was put underneath a helmet dryer.
Once my time was up, I was led to the sinks, where two separate toners were added to the mix (still wearing the cap), it was then pulled off, and since my hair had been quickly washed previously, the junior was told to again «just give it a quick one.» I had previously mentioned I didn’t like coming out with a visible root line, and Taylor assured me the cap would get the colour as close as possible, and this was a better technique than foils — not true. When we got back to the mirror I noticed the roots were still brown, and was promised they would be blonde when I was done. Spoiler alert — they weren’t. Once I was blow dried, I mentioned I wasn’t 100% happy — there was about a 1″ line of root running around the front of my hair and all along my parting. Not only this, but the sides and underneath were untouched. I told him I would have a look at home, and see how I felt, as I was leaving I went to pick up my scarf, and it was in a pile on the floor. Upset about the whole experience, it took about an hour after coming out until I arranged to come in the following day to get it fixed up. Taylor seemed more than amenable on the phone, so I returned in good spirits, thinking I would be in safe hands.
Once I returned, the atmosphere was decidedly frosty. I was sat at the back of the salon, where it turned into a nightmarish scenario. At this point, I have to mention that my colourist was very apologetic about the whole debacle, he understood what I wanted and told me he was following Taylor’s instructions. Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson, however were abominable. Taylor refused to admit there was a problem, he refused to acknowledge that the roots were out of control, and he was downright rude. When I mentioned that the previous day I had requested foils, he demanded whether I was questioning his years of experience. He claimed that my hair was unable to be dyed blonde, and when I showed him a picture of myself sporting blonde locks (done by a world-​class colorist) he claimed I had ruined my hair — not true. When it was clear nothing was moving forward I asked if I could get a refund so I could get it fixed at another salon. No dice. Anne Ferguson was horrific, thrusting a hand written disclaimer in my face. After a whole lot of back and forth, I ended up getting ¾ head of highlights, exactly what I had requested the first day, and actually they are great. Exactly what I wanted, if only they had done it the day before. Worst experience ever!

I have been a client at Taylor Ferguson for the last four years and cannot believe some of the reviews I have read on this page. I have been treated with the greatest respect at all times, on the downside it can be a little on the expensive side however if you want to look good and have great hair then this is the best salon in Glasgow. I can assure you that whether you are a Celebrity, TV Personality or General Client you are all treated the same. The service is second to none and from the minute you walk in the door you are taken care of. Taylor and his wife Anne are very hands on which is nice to see after 35 years or so in the business and the Salon Manager Ian is absolutely wonderful, ensuring that everyone is well taken care of and their needs are met not to mention the fantastic top notch cut he gives you. Linda is my stylist and although I have been going to the salon for four years or so she always takes the time ask me exactly what I am looking for and advise me on the condition of my hair and the best products I should use. I have watched many celebrities come in and out of the salon and have never at any time seen them being treated any differently from myself. I would recommend this salon to anyone and can assure you that you will get 1^st Class Service from the minute you arrive. I visited today and feel a million dollars now. I am retracting previous review as perhaps too harsh. Make up your own mind but beware of pricing

I had an appointment to have a consultation and my hair cut/​blow dried by Taylor Ferguson. As I really looked forward to an experience having a really good hair cut and general feeling of being pampered, my dissapointment was huge. On arrival the receptionist did not say, that perhaps there was a misunderstanding regarding the appointment with Taylor Ferguson. The option to rearange the appointment with another stylist was done while I was waiting to see Taylor. I did not agree to have my hair cut by another stylist, so I was treated accordingly. The general atmoshere in the salon was strained with some employees milling about and not doing anything in particular. Eventually, after 20 minutes Taylor appeared, did not give apology, just discussed briefly in the washing hair area while we were both standing and not in front of a mirror what I wanted done. The result: Taylor did not spend enough time, cutting the hair thourougly. It looked reasonably OK after the cut/​blow dry yesterday, but today one can see, that the hair was cut quickly, more time spend on the job would have made all the difference. It is a great disappointment, because it was meant to be a treat, and a trial cut/​blow dry for an important event later this year. It is a shame, that some people do not matter, and i am one of them.

I had an appointment with Michael, was first time in the salon, the receptionist didnt seem that friendly but Michael was very down to earth, put me at ease and offered advice, the cut was good and the treatment did last a few washes, i felt my hair was in better condition, a young girl blow dried my hair, I felt it was a bit too voluminous but apart from this was ok, I used an offer from a magazine so the price was about £40, this was with £20 off, I would recommend Michael as a stylist.

Overpriced for a start. I had blond highlights and wanted to go back to my natural red hair colour. The hairdresser Russell did not seen to listen to me at all, i wanted all my blond hair dyed, instead he put a cap on my hair and gave my brown lowlights BROWN (not even close to my natural colour) — leaving 4 inches of roots for the remaining blond. I also had a streak of blond on the underside of my hair which I must have mentioned at least 4 times — this was not dyed!!! He was rude to the girl washing my hair which made me very uncomfortable, the same girl also put the dye on my hair and spent more time with me than Russell himself. He must have spent all of 5 mins at most on the cut! He did not listen to me once, he kept telling me ”trust me it will look better this way” he was cutting my hair right next to Taylor Ferguson himself, and seemed more concerned with impressing the boss than listening to what i was asking for, very unprofessional.

I couldn’t get to my appointment as my train was cancelled in Fife due to snow on the line. I was told by a very rude lady that I should have given more notice– after I kindly explained I had attempted to make said appointment however, I could not control the weather she very abruptly hung up the phone!
I will definitely not be making another appointment!

The experience from start to finish was first-​class.
The stylist listened to my wishlist — and discussed my expectations fully.
I felt totally pampered and having travelled extensively throughout the world can honestly say I’ve never experienced such a high level of customer service.
The outcome was first-​rate and I felt I’d become 10 years younger! I loved the cut and colour and couldn’t have asked for a better job.
Throughout the whole visit the staff kept me fully briefed on what was happening and delivered 100%.
I felt like I was walking on air when I left the salon.
All my family and friends loved my new look.
Marks out of ten? It would have to be a 9.5.

Decided to really treat myself so popped into Taylor Ferguson, and to my suprise on a saturday afternoon they could take me!
I thought it being one of the best in Glasgow I would let her do her thing I wanted the colour lifted as it was so dark and made it clear I have to have my hair tied back at work so dont cut too much off.
4 hours later I got some brassy highlights and yip she cropped the top so short I can only describe it as a mullet! Then the real horror started when I got to the cash desk you ready for this…£275!!! yip you heard me right! I had to go to another salon to re-​dye it dark again and just hope by some chance my hair grows back quickly!
Dont go there are so may good salons in glasgow and just because they feel they can charge celeb prices you dont walk out feeling like one!!!
