Persuaded by my flatmates and the pale-skinned winter blues, I trotted down here for my first and only sunbed experience some time ago. The girls were friendly, the whole place seemed nice and clean, but it felt distinctly cheap — the walls being the equivalent of cardboard between booths. I came out feeling hot and sweaty and a bit out of pocket. Maybe with more sessions I would achive a golden sunkissed tan, but I quickly realised such things are wholly unnatural for any true-blooded Scots woman, and haven’t been back since. My common sense has also moved beyond my vanity now and I wouldn’t sit in a sun bed again for the health risks– skin cancer is not worth it. Don’t do it. Get yourself a spray tan instead.
