I would say this is the best place in Glasgow that I have found for delicious Mexican food! It is a very casual, fast food based Mexican restaurant full of wonderful flavours. I would recommend getting the pulled pork burrito, and tell them not to be shy on the guacamole! Bloody marvellous!

Ventured in here today after seeing their lunchtime deal. Small burrito/fajita/quesadilla, tortilla chips and drink for under a fiver? Sold! They also do ‘Vegan Tuesdays’, so need to investigate what that’s all about. Heard their pulled tofu burritos are awesome. This place is very vegan-friendly. I had guacamole, some sort of ridiculously spicy salsa, veggie chilli, jalapenos and rice in my burrito. For a small burrito it was very filling, especially with the lovely tortilla chips. The guac was delicious and balanced out the spices a little. The water took the edge off the spice, but not much. Like a proper kick though, so was delighted with this. You can choose between mild, medium, hot and extra hot. The place itself is quite small. The table I sat at still had the last customer’s leftovers there, but it was busy when I arrived so can forgive them for that. You can buy bottles of hot sauce here and they do Swipii points. Yay! Can’t wait to go back! Will check out the city centre shop next time.

Ideal for a quick lunch elevated above the standard sandwich and crisps options. For £4.50 you can get a burrito or fajita with tortilla chips or fruit and a drink. The fillings are generous and you can more or less make it as spicy or as mild as you like. Or you can upgrade for a larger portion(although I can’t imagine being hungry after a small one). I pretty much always take away but sitting in is an option and is perfectly comfortable. It’s possible that there’s better burritos to be found in Glasgow, but for the speed, price and convenience these are remarkably good. There’s a very good reason they always have a queue out of the door at lunch time.

Been a long term fan of taco mazama since they first opened but after being served by the rudest girl I’ve ever encountered, I won’t be returning. Treating your customers like they’re a massive inconvenience and slamming stuff down, banging about with the grimmest expression possible only drives loyal custom away. Sure, the burrito was good, but with so much competition for your dollar on Byres road, I simply will go elsewhere in future and will be sure to let everyone else know that TM simply do not care about who they put in the front line to represent them. Absolutely woeful.

I have to admit that they probably do not serve the best burritos in the world, but it definitely serves a purpose. Earlier in the week I had mentioned to my lab partner and partner in crime that I was craving a burrito, and the following morning he came in and said we should have one for lunch, so I was sold. Thankfully, Taco Mazama is only a short walk from the lab and so the perfect way of getting some air and some food. He went for the large burrito lunch deal(drink, tortilla chips and large burrito for £5.99) whereas I got the small version for £4.50. I’m sure they’ve increased the prices, but that’s a different story. I like that the food is freshly prepared in a Subway-esque manner. As mentioned, they aren’t be best burritos, and you always have to be slightly lucky. Unfortunately, it was only warm in areas and there is not an even spread of rice and chicken either — the rice will be on one side of the burrito, the chicken on the other. Although this is a big shame, I still eat them. I admit the small burrito is small, but has got to be enough to fill me up. In the words of my partner in crime, it’s fast food, but we will be coming back, as this place is in a really convenient location on Byres Road and serves its purpose. What I appreciate a lot is that they sell Tango drinks(I know, it’s the little things in life), and I have to admit I absolutely love their Blood Orange flavour. The interior reminds me starkly of some diner or chippy that has a seating area, there’s nothing special about it, and for the most part it’s pretty clean usually. The staff changes rather frequently, as I have never seen the same staff in there for a second time, but saying that, they are always friendly and very efficient at what they do. I also really rather appreciate the music they play, which is not distracting but is there. Three stars, although«Yay! I’m a fan.»

In need of a small meal on Byres Road, I thought this was the perfect spot to go. I opted for a burrito bowl with chicken and all the usual burrito toppings. We sat down to eat and I was pretty disappointed with what was served up — overcooked chicken, hardened rice, gluggy beans and a bit of a shambles of toppings. Perhaps I’ve been spoilt by other Mexican takeaway/fast food spots, perhaps it was because it was nearing the end of the day or perhaps it was because I was grumpy and hungry. But either way, Taco Mazama didn’t live up to my expectations and I left feeling decidedly«meh». Note: they take Swipii card.

Taco Mazama hasn’t ever been the best Burrito in town but that doesn’t mean it isn’t damn good. I discovered the Mega Burrito, much to my stomach’s delight, and took mine with the shredded beef and veggie chili. It was sensational. But I would say that the hottest salsa didn’t have an incredible kick to it, more a good warmth. We ordered ours for delivery during the World Cup Final last night and as expected there was a wait. We were quoted an hour and they turned up a little later than that but I cant speak to whether or not that is the norm.
