This is the place to go for smart shirts. I like to keep it simple for work — I say that I have a ‘minimalist’ approach to my work wardrobe, with clean simple lines and colours. I’m just being pretentious when I say that, as in reality this means that all I need is 4 white shirts, 2 dark skirts and one pair of black shoes. Makes it easy peasy lemon squeezy and cuts down my time in the morning figuring out what the hell to wear that day, when really just getting dressed and out the door is challenge enough in itself. I figure that if minimalistic styling is good enough for Steve Jobs and Einstein, then it’s damn well good enough for me. But this means that the shirts have to be GOOD shirts, which is where T M Lewin come in. They have many many shirts, nicely tailored for woman, and a much better fit than I have found anywhere else ever. These are not boxy shirts, or shirts that are too tight and pop open across the bust. These shirts are nicely fitting and, dare I say it, actually quite flattering. They also have a very friendly and helpful woman who unpacks them all for you, gives advice and makes suggestions — she’s great. And they also quite often do deals — the shirts are maybe £25 to £35 each, and sometimes you’ll get a deal doing 3 shirts for £60 or something like that. It’s good quality for a very reasonable price. I just buy white, button up to the neck, long sleeved classic shirts — minimalism yeah — but they have lots of other shirts with stripes, patterns, solid colours, and all sorts of other styles. They do suits too, but i’ve never really looked. Anyway, if you’re looking for some nice smart shirts, T M Lewin makes this quest very easy for you.
