I would give this different stars on different days of the week, and depending on if I wanted a family get together or a pre-club type drink… this branch of Lloyds is totally different character at different times of day in my opinion! In the daytime they do the usual Wetherspoons/Lloyds menu, with special offers on meal deals depending on what day of the week it is(e.g. Sunday roast day). Meals are also served quite late, which is convenient. They have small individual tables, bigger group tables and also booths, as well as some limited high bar stool style seats near the bar area. Their craft beer and real ale selection is very good, I noticed that they currently have a ‘suggest a beer’ box which is next to the main doorway, which says they will try and get things in which you suggest(nice touch). At night time, especially at weekends, this turns into a dance and disco-light kind of place, which is great if you want to dance and have cocktails(which are good, and affordable) but so different from the daytime! Wish I could give 3.5 stars!

I’m giggling over reviewing this place as it’s a total guilty pleasure of mine and maaaaaybe Sophie K’s as well. I’d been in once before with my boyfriend to meet up with a few of his friends one night over the Christmas holidays, but more recently, my boyfriend met up with me and Sophie K after we had been out shopping all day. We wanted cheap booze, so we knew any wetherspoons would be a good bet and happened to be near this one. By the time we walked in, it was well after 8pm, and the place was hopping! We were lucky enough to get a table near the windows at the front of the place– I’m not sure we were daring enough to walk any where further into the place. We took our turns buying rounds, and as the night went on, the music seemed more and more danceable(not a word). Hahah, no, we didn’t dance around, but we sure did sing a lot and do little chair dances. Let me just say that my boyfriend wanted nothing to do with the dancing and the singing part, hahaha! The womans toilets are a sight to be seen. I’ve never seen so many drunk women talking about the guys they’re with, how she looked at her, how their makeup is done and where they’re going later on. Loads of mirrors and stalls galore. I usually just keep my head down, get in and get out. Ha! Anyway, the staff here are friendly, especially in stressful situations where loads of drunk people want their booze. They do what they can to get everyone served as soon as possible. Great time, cheap(good quality) booze, what’s not to love about a wetherspooons?

Food is decent for the price — fun young ambiance — good tunes — drinks are a tad pricy but good(I had the porn star martini — yum!) — service is find a table — go up to the bar and give then your table number — they deliver to ur table. Friendly staff but it’s loud so don’t expect to keep asking the servers for stuff. American to American tip — there are no to-go boxes! :) Great time though — worth a stop in at least one late night in town!

Oh dear. I went here a couple of nights ago as my friend thought it would be a good meeting place before his birthday night out as it’s cheap and can accomodate large groups. It looks quite modern from outside but as soon as I walked in all I could smell was sick and there was a young guy being sick all over the edge of the bar. I wanted to walk right back out again. It was Sunday and it was only 6 o’clock yet there was a group of wino’s falling about the place, pushing each other over and dirty dancing with the arcade machine. Classy. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all, okay it may be cheap for drink but it has absolutely no character what so ever and is completely soulless. The only«lived in» feel you get from it is the smell of sick from previous customers. I’m not a big drinker but would rather pay a little bit extra for a nice cocktail than down £1 cheap vodkas that taste like bleach. After speaking to some people about it the other day I’ve heard that this particular Lloyds also gets quite a bad name for trouble, I guess that explains why there’s like 6 bouncers on the door. Steer clear.

The food is decent as long as you don’t expect too much… I mean, this is a Wetherspoon’s after all and you have to keep your expectations at a certain level. It’s a tradition for my husband and I to come here every time we’re in Glasgow and have the Chicken Tikka Masala with a bottle of Riesling… it comes out to about £20. This is where we had our first date… so maybe I wax a little bit more nostalgic on it than it probably deserves. But if it set to mood for two people to get together, it can’t be all that bad of a place, right?

If you want to spend your Saturday night, going wild, downing tequilla at the bar and listening to loud, repetitive house music then this is just the place for you. It’s not my kind of scene but I can see why it’s mobbed at the weekends. The food is along the same idea as Wetherspoon’s and Yates bars. Cheap, cheerful pub grub! I don’t mind taking a wonder in during the day for a burger and a pint but I tend to avoid it at Weekends. I want to keep my ear drums intact! Hen/stag do’s and work night out — look out!

Lloyd’s Bar is an extension of the Wetherspoons brand, but here takes on a bit more of a trendy, house-music inspired, edge. It’s all shots of booze and bright-blue lights, which is really not my scene but, being Wetherspoons, is exactly what one usually seeks out before a night out on Sauchiehall Street. If you’re not rushing off to a busy club, however, Lloyds can still be a good place to stop by for a quick pub lunch, especially if you’re too lazy to do a whole Sunday roast at home. I went in here once to do a secret shop/audit and although everything could have been a bit hotter, the Sunday grub was pretty decent. They also serve some unusual/niche ales, if you’re into that sort of thing. Overall, not much character, but cheap, cheerful, and prepared for the massive Saturday night influx.

Lloyds is the more«fashionable» extension of the Wetherspoons brand, which basically means flatscreen TVs belting out MTV Dance, pointless electric blue lighting, slightly pricier drinks, and hideous hen parties in their 20s rather than 40s. The foods also a fair bit better than at Wetherspoons, and whilst it’s a bit more expensive across the board there’s still good deals on pretty much everything. Utterly uninspiring, but an ok place to stop off before you go elsewhere.

Huge cheap and cheerful bar with LOUD music. Cheesy to the extreme but great when you’ve had a drink. I was here on a friday night and three fights broke out! I heard thats kind of normal here but the security was good and dealt with it quickly. Wont rush back though cause i felt quite intimidated. Better bars/clubs in the west end and south-side.

this bar’s only advantage is the fact that it’s dirt cheapeverything else is a pub-by-numbers kind of affair. a pint of deuchars ipa for £1.29, with a pretty decent feed of fish and chips for another four squids is not something that can really be sniffed at. good for hiding in, but don’t suggest it as a venue for meeting your cool friends(they’ll only laugh at you)…or for a date with that girl you’ve been hankering after!

A Wetherspoons which is a nice place to drop in for lunch with the usual Wetherspoons fare on offer. This always means good deals on food and drinks with promotions often in place. IN the evenings this place can see a lot of office nights out and after 8pm a dance floor appears and the music is turned up so beware! It is a large bar however so you can escape this and there is a good-sized area at the back of the bar that is good for booking for group night outs. The door staff can be a little too over strict and pretentious however.

Lloyds feels like it hasn’t had a good clean since it opened. Its more for slightly older people looking for a drink, nibbles and a chat. I wouldn’t recommend it as a starting point on a night out but its good for lunch. Its a wetherspoons so you can expect the typical wetherspoons deal — great food cheap drinks. This place is huge though and its just a big wide open space with tables and chairs, theres no variety. But you can’t fault the products at all.

I really like lloyds, its a wetherspoons pub so you can expect the usual great selection of drinks at great prices! Its always really busy in here and i think this is mainly because unlike most wetherspoons, this one plays music, and even has a dancefloor! On a thursday night there is kareoke and a wee disco, and at the weekend theres a great dj, the music in here is always great and really sets you up for a great night out in glasgow! Its really handy for the clubs at the bottom end of town and it within good walking distance of a few of them!
