Stayed at this conveniently located hotel in Glasgow’s West End. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the hotel each morning and found it to be very typical U. K. fare. I typically grabbed a pair of fried eggs like only the Brits make them, a thick slice of bacon, a little Baked Bean action, some baked tomato slices and some hearty freshly cut bread and jam. Gotta love it!

Buffet: The tuna starter had no tuna There was no butter for the rolls The hot salmon main course was a little warm at best The cold pudding was served on a hot plate No mints with the coffee The bar tried to rip us off Best to avoid! Plenty better places in Byres Road

I really have a soft spot for Hilton Hotels probably because I have been so much over the past few years. I think the service is great and the hotel standards are high, so your stay can be as you would prefer. I must mention that the rooms are spotless and well equiped, and the breakfast is amazing. The BUFFET breakfast consisted of every fruit, full english, fruit juices, numerous breads and cheeses, and Quorn sauages for vegetarians! There was probably much more but it was difficult for my eyes to take it all in.

Sucked in by the half price deal they sometimes offer on their websites, I booked a night here for my boyfriend and I. It felt pretty posh in the lobby and the greeting we got from the chap behind the counter was very polite… that is after he spent 5 minutes on the phone ignoring us. The room itself was lovely and clean, but pretty tiny and not as plush as the lobby. Boo. We ordered breakfast in bed as a treat, but they didn’t send what I ordered and man, I was sad. But luckily after a quick phone call they sent it right up with a thousand apologies. To be honest though, I was that hungover that I didn’t appreciate it anyway. Still, half price — you can’t complain that much.

The hotel is in a lovely looking old building overlooking the Kibble Palace end of Kelvingrove Park next to the junction of Byres Road and Great Western Road, so the hotel is a great central location for stays in the west end of Glasgow. The room wasn’t anything special, when I stayed here in December the place felt deserted. However the views over the park where fantastic, lovely to watch the world go by on Great Western Road against the bare trees in the park. One literal bad mark, was in our room their were blood stains on one of the towels which was a bit weird and creepy.

Lovely hotel with average rooms and furniture. Great breakfast and bar areas. One down point was although we stated non smoking room preferred we got a smoking room which was stinking and gave us sore throats
