I must say as a girl I felt a little out of place here. It wasn’t the most delicate of places, which doesnt mean I ‘m scared of a bit of the old town pub feel but it would be nice to not feel like I was in the middle of a football stand. Having said that, I might have went on the wrong day, and perhaps there are times when a pint in one hand and a steak in the other is a good plan. Not my scene really though, the place held a bit of a stagnant beer odour, and didn’t look very clear inside or out. Argh., On the positive side I have also heard that the food is good.

Situated almost directly underneath the Erskine Bridge in Old Kilpatrick, the Lusset is a fairly run-of-the-mill pub that has gained a steady reputation for good, honest grub at reasonable prices. The steaks in particular are highly recommended. With a vast and vibrant conservatory round the back, it’s a particularly good place for large groups and is family friendly, although perhaps one to be avoided on the days of bigger Rangers’ games given its slight leanings towards the Ibrox men.
