If you are looking for a vintage style wedding dress, this is the place. My dream dress was a 50’s style tea dress, and unlike other mainstream wedding dress shops which usually only ever had one tea dress in their selection, Lisa offers a wide range of different options(strapless/long or cap-sleeved), different materials(lace/chiffon/satin etc) and lets you try on all the different combinations so you quickly figure out which style & fabric suits you best. You have to book far in advance and it’s an appointment-based shop so don’t expect to turn up announced for a browse. You also don’t get the champagne treatment. It’s very straight-to-the-point so if you are looking for that, maybe go for a browse in other traditional style shops before coming here. Lisa listens carefully to what you want and your budget, and explains the options clearly. This shop shows it’s possible to find the perfect dress without spending a horrifying amount of money on it. She was incredibly flexible with me and met all my requirements fantastically. She even sourced me a beautiful cadbury purple petticoat for underneath the dress along with a matching ribbon around my waist. She has all the colours of the rainbow in petticoats so you’ll definitely find something to meet your taste. One thing I noticed(touching on a previous reviewer’s experience) is that Lisa’s manner is quite brusque … she’s very honest in terms of what suits, sometimes it might come across as a bit brutal, but I suppose you need that. In my opinion, her expertise definitely lies more in dress design than customer service but that’s a compromise you have to make for the perfect dress.
