On holiday in Scotland and stopped into the recommended Coffee and Craic. If you are in Glasgow, make the trip. Friendly Baristas, great coffee, and maybe you’ll learn a little Gaelic too!

Just called in for a coffee today, though the food on the counter looked nice too! Was super quiet, but nice and spacious feel for the little café it is, and the staff member who served me was nice and friendly. I’ll definitely be back soon– it’s such a brilliant space to have for the community of Gaelic speakers and learners in Glasgow

As a proud Highlander I love the idea of a Gaelic café but Coffee and Craic lacks character and the food is average at best. I decided to go here for a sandwich at lunchtime and ordered a chicken, pesto and mozzarella toasted sandwich. They sell homebaking here but I’m fairly sure they get the rest of their gear from the nearby Tesco. The white baguette was so jaggy that it actually hurt to eat it. The filling was made up of the chicken pieces you get in a plastic tray in the supermarket, the ones that have a strange processed texture. The cheese and pesto were fine. The real downer was the atmosphere. One member of staff chatted with a customer for about ten minutes then after the customer left went on to gossip about him with a colleague. If you’re going to complain about customers at least do it out of earshot of anyone else! It made the place seem quite unwelcoming and I don’t think I’ll be back any time soon.
