Cook & Indi’s World Buffet

There is nothing that sets this place apart from any other world buffet or similar restaurant, I would say service was rather slow, ordered two soft drinks and they didn’t arrive till after we had filled a plate, came back and finished it
Having the food in a separate room was unique however it created a bottle neck for people getting in and out,
The selection was ok, like I said nothing you can’t get elsewhere.
The one poor thing I experienced was the Chinese spare ribs, tasted more like cheap pork crackling … I spat it out in to a napkin it was so vile… I did try a couple of the others on my plate to make sure I just didn’t choose a «bad Rib»
They have a grill section however instead of getting freshly cooked succulent meats, they are cooked beyond any flavour and served vey dry
I have been 4 times now with different people and I came out feeling a little negative each time … I think that’s it for me I won’t go back
Who wants a negative feeling after dinner

So I’ve read the previous reviews about this place. Well I am quite the regular here, with family and work mates.
Out of countless visits I can only think of 1 bad experience where it was far too warm in the middle of summer.
However overall and compared to other venues that I eat out at this is probably one that I frequent quite often. Staff are usually average to good, the food is always nice, and it’s reasonably priced. Love the cheapness of the lunch time plus free refills!

Terrible! From the chilly unwelcome received on arrival and the fact that we were seated (dumped) in an empty part of the restaurant where the waiting staff forgot about us, it was evident this new Cook & Indi was lacking in the standards of the other branches. In fact, we only got drinks after getting up to go find a waiter. They later on forgot to serve another drink so we just paid and left which cut the visit short.
The food is just as bad. The selection is not only poor, there is no pork anywhere which I find irritating in a restaurant supposedly representing foods if the world. I can always get a slice of pepperoni pizza in the Renfield St location and their service is excellent. The majority of the food on offer here is Indian and what little else there is was bland and lacking. I found the serving temperatures of some items to be a concern as well and many dishes were either unlabelled or mislabelled.
If I want an Indian buffet I can visit better ones all over Glasgow. I went here for a range of dishes and didn’t get what I paid for. That combined with the poor service and low standards of hygiene means I will not visit here again nor recommend this location.

Well I went here today for a celebration myself but I was not prepared for what happened.
I arrived and got my first course and everything was ok, but after that I took not well and they was not a help. I picked up soup and started to walk back and I could feel a seizure coming. I put soup down and went over the back where live demonstrations was just kept looking about for nearly 10 mins and struggled to communicate, then I remember he took my soup to my table but not to help just to move me, nobody checked I was ok.
Then I’m drinking soup out the bowl without a spoon because I couldn’t remember what I needed. A member of staff asked me did I need anything and yet again I couldn’t get the words out and heavily confused, but nobody again Investigated what was wrong.
Eventually I went and got a third course but didn’t eat much and left, this was so wrong. I’m in the middle of a seizure, can’t speak, confused and wandering about disgusted (this is not a reflection on other cook and indi world buffet)
Update: This complaint was handled and given an apology also a free meal at anyone of my choice and I picked my favourite one in Renfield street, I’ll never go back the one at the quay EVER.

Was here with my kid. Nice touch with the free parking at the rear of the restaurant. Food was nice. Service was also good. For myself and my kid it was 27 pound which is fine. Will return again.
