The Chicken Hit is not the nicest place for fried chicken on the Southside– in fact, I’d give the chicken meals a wide berth. Standard sweaty skins, too much oil, the usual problems of the KFC impersonating without the secret spices. Luckily, they don’t just do chicken: they have a massive range of takeaway curries which are probably healthier too. I have had a few of their meal deals over the years, and they usually last me at least two meals. They have a fairly standard, if large range: the Punjab specials are worth a punt and the basanti is perfect if you like it hot. Most of these are available in king prawn, if you fancy a slight touch of luxury: the spicier the better from here, though. I did have a shot on the Peri Peri chicken once. It was okay.
