This is a handy little Nero close to Central Station. It’s not a huge branch but they do what they need to do and they’re especially handy at coffee to go. The staff are pretty great at clearing a queue during busy times. I dropped in with Paul M to hide from the rain, re-group and plan the rest of our day. For once that meant I decided to sit in. I ordered one of the special Christmas drinks, the Winter Berry Latte, which I whole hearted recommend. He got a cheese and ham panini, lamenting that it also contained Bechamel sauce(«what can’t places like this just keep it simple?») to go with his cup of tea. In the end he admitted that the panini was ok but this branch only gets 3 stars from me because of the confusion with our order. They said they’d bring it over and just brought us the tea. Then I went to ask about the rest and they put the panini on which they did bring out to us. Later, still without my coffee I went to ask again — they appologised and made it quickly but it was quite annoying. I think the rush to serve the«to go» customers might result in the customers sitting in to become a lower priority. Once we had everything it was fine and quite a nice space to sit in but I wish things were a little better organised.

I visited here on good Friday. This is a great large café Nero. Clean. Loads of seating and a stone throw from central station. Thumbs up.

A nice spot to wait for a train at Glasow Central. Relaxed space and you can watch the world go by. Coffee is so-so, typical Café Nero.

The experience here is so relaxed. I love to come in here just to sit on the comfy seats now and again. The variety of food products, out does any of the othe coffee shop chains, or so I have found. Usually you cannot get things like paninis in other coffee shops like Starbucks, but here they have it all. This comes at a price, not a large one but anyway, the gorgeous coffee aroma is lost in Nero, due to all the extra food being made. Ah well, can’t win them all. Hot chocolate with the humungus marshmallows on the dreamably soft sofas on a rainey day! does it get better.

To give it credit, this Caffe Nero has withstood the trest of time and weathered the recession with reasonable dignity! This is the first of this franchise I remember landing on Glasgow’s turf and I used to come in here to buy my vocal coach a coffee many, many years ago when coffee was cheap and life was easy… Caffe Nero still makes life seem easy breezy, however! With its cosy ambience, comfy leather couches and, as Eleanor pointed out, hot chocolate of orgasmic taste proportions, it’s a nice place to go for a coffee if you’re meeting someone from the station, or if you’re early for a train. They also stock a selection of sandwiches and the usual café eats. Still got a place in my heart for Caffe Nero even though it is now surrounded by coffee house neighbours.

I usually pop into this branch of Caffe Nero if I’m waiting for a bus on Union Street and it’s too cold to wait without a warm drink. I’m not a huge coffee drinker so I usually get a tea or a hot chocolate. I have to say, Caffe Nero do the best hot choc’ around! It’s even better with marshmallows in it, they put big marshmallows in it instead of the tiny little ones you get in most other coffee shops, it’s just delicious! You can also sit in here and although this branch is a bit smaller than some of the other ones around the town centre, it’s very cosy and the staff are very helpful.

Pleasant and friendly Staff, i get my daily caffeine fix here. Have tried to use the Wifi a couple of times but the wireless access seems patchy

Much better than Starbucks. Good drinks, nice food and very accommodating with babies. Treat yourself to a cappuccino and a muffin. They have a loyalty card too — result!
