A joke of a shop,vulgar staff,a shop full of bullies and back stabbers,i know a few people who have volunteered there are all have left due to mismanagement,head office needs to know about this place and it seems like it has been getting away with murder for years,paid staff and totally lazy and the volunteers do all the work and get no credit for it and the paid staff do nothing and get money for nothing,a joke of a place and i for one will be contacting head office to bring this shop to a end.

Disgusting shop,had friends who volunteered there and had nothing nice to say about the place,paid staff are lazy and treat the volunteers like slaves,my friend was constantly bullied and ended up leaving even though he volunteered all the hours god sent and was treated like crap by the staff and fellow volunteers.When i was in the shop all i heard was silly gossip between the staff and a ugly little troll like woman who i expect was a volunteer saying the most horrible things about other volunteers behind there back.spread the word about this shop and get it shut down,the staff are a utter joke and get paid for nothing as the volunteers do all the work and i have seen it with my own eyes when i go into the shop,head office will be contacted about this place as the staff are getting away with murder.

Horrible shop,maybe not to the casual customer but i volunteered there for just over a year and it was amazing at the start and i worked my finger to the bone and made great friends and had a good rapport with the customers and i would leave each day with a great feeling of satisfaction but as the months went on i started to see cracks,like most of these places it can be very cliquey and full of gossip and people slagging of each other behind each others back which i simply find childish and some of the paid staff were lazy and were not up to the job they were being paid to do that was frustrating to watch and the manager puts pressure of the volunteers but seems the paid staff can take a back seat and do nothing as the volunteers run the shop,the place was mismanaged and full of bullies.there was a older lady who volunteered and acted like a five year old and just because she was there the longest she seemed to think she could bully and talk down to anyone in the shop,it happened to me and i informed the manager and nothing was done as the manager was best buddies with said old lady so i had no chance of winning that battle and the manager and the old lady simply made sure they sucked all the my good will and nature out of me and i ended up hating going in to volunteer.I put in so much time and effort into that place and it ment the world to me but the paid staff were a joke apart from one of the assistant managers but sad fact is that the old lady will continue to bully and be mean to people and the place will still be run by idiots to this day,a sad little shop run by sad little mean spirited people who have no respect for the hard work and the time and effort volunteers give up to help the charity.Avoid this shop like the plague.

An A-​OK charity shop, but not my favourite on Byre’s Road. It’s quite a small shop which makes it difficult during busier periods, and the last time we were in, there were bags of stock under some of the clothing rails as they must have have run out of space in the stockroom.
I don’t remember the departments being too clear and the shop did seem a little too full and messy as a result.
For me, there’s shops which I prefer and which have better stock and pricing, but I will still pop in for a peek at BHF as I’d be passing by on my second haunt wanderings anyway.

This charity shop is one with a difference — they use very clever tactics and gimmicks on drunk people! During the bright sober light of day, it’s very easy to mosey on past; but in the deep, darkness following several happy hours it is mesmerising.
Their stock mostly consists of somewhat dodgy cloths; dog eared books and those strange ceramic ornaments that are surely not still being made but are seemingly forever multiplying. However, with this stock they manage to magpie out the shiniest items and arrange them in a pretty decent display in the window.
So, the chances are your incoherent attention will be grabbed by the window display. Yet, when you purposely revisit the window of wonder, all will not seem as it did. On closer inspection, the merchandise is just as you’d expect in any other charity shop (if not worse).
Good enough for a quick look and the window displays often show the best item so there’s less call for you to rummage around. However, the true gems from here will be few and far between. Though, the drunken awe is always a nice experience.
