Fab food with good sized portions. By far my fave Indian. Lunchtime menu is just the right sized portions and value for money. Place has recently been redecorated. Only gripe is they occasionally give me chicken instead of lamb hence 4stars. Check your dish before you leave the restraurant when getting takeaway.

I used to live around the corner from here in Queens park several years back and often came here for food to go, always saved me from dirtying my pans. In this area this has to be one of the better Indian take away /restaurant by a long shot, by the look of the dining room it has not been decorated since it was last used as a pub. If your here for a take away best to phone in advance as sometimes they do take ages, always check your order before leaving as they do mistakes all the time, my last meal here was the best ever where l had a curry that contained king prawns, chicken pieces, lamb and beef with vegetable rice and nann bread with chopped curried beef through it. After having the meal my partner said(this is not what l ordered you) and there was me thinking that she ordered it as a surprise for me.

Used this place on 20.09.2011 as a meeting place for a disciplinary hearing on a member of our dining group(The Buffetbhoys) who got tossed for being a donker. The food was so good we quickly lost interest in disciplining him and concentrated on the lovely Indian Cuisine on offer. Top place as far as we are concerned and we have tried them all and then some ! Excellent food, friendly attentive staff and very reasonable prices. We will be back in here again once we have disciplined him and we can then give the food the attention it deserves.

Just have to say how much I love the food from this Indian. Admittedly I have never sat in although I do have friends who do so frequently which is a review in itself and they travel from Clarkston to do so, which may not be a million miles away but it’s not just around the corner either. Anyway, they have, in my opinion, the best pakora in town and the food is always delicious and fresh and I could rave about it all day but I’d just end up in there for my dinner when I should be at the gym!

The Anarkali is one of Victoria Road’s institutions: big portions, location near to the park, gentle curries that don’t challenge the taste buds. It is one of the better take-aways on the southside, as it avoids the standard soup texture that passes for sauce, and the nan breads are large and tasty. As the previous reviewer suggested, it has a very distinctive take on the idea of curry: I think this might be due to the age of the restaurant: it offers the sort of meal that first introduced Indian food to the British palate. Eating in is a treat, too: well worth it for the smart décor and attentive service.

One of the joys of being married to a Scot and getting to visit the UK every other Christmas is eating mountains of Indian food cooked in that uniquely delicious British style. So I have tried many places, and of them all, Anarkali is my least favorite. It is absolutely beloved by Southside Glaswegians so I’m sure this review will inspire great wrath, but I can’t lie! Now, don’t get me wrong — I like it. I’m giving it three stars. It tastes delicious, and when my in-laws order a giant meal on the last day before we fly back to Boston, I’m delighted to eat a shitload of it. But as straight up Indian food, I’m not sure it qualifies. Each curry is *very* creamy — in fact I always swear I can taste a hint of ricotta cheese in everything. The peshawari naan has not a nut or a raisin to be found, but instead a radioactive pink paste that tastes fantastic despite being of unknown origin. As far as I can tell, it is so popular because it is an institution of 30 years(sentimental affection), it’s cheap & the portions are enormous(Scottish appreciation for good value), and it tastes like Indian food and butter had a delicious baby, served in a naan bread the size of your thigh. I’ve never been in the place, but as a take away it’s a very tasty and cheap option for a lazy night in.
