Came here for Boxing Day drinks with the family. You’d think that living in Kent, the home of Shepherd Neame, they’d have a decent array of pubs on offer. Sadly not. My parents live in Medway and, unless they are prepared to travel(which would involve driving, defeating the point of going to a pub), they are stuck drinking in dives like this one. The service is speedy and the drinks are cheap, I’ll give them that. However, the clientele it attracts are all clad in tracksuit bottoms and football shirts, shouting and slurring their words. There are huge TVs, all displaying football matches and adding fuel to the drunken, angry fire. A lot of the people propping up the bar looked like they either spent their every waking minute here or weren’t old enough to be drinking at all. Frankly, I was glad to get out of there. As much as I love seeing family over the holidays, I am desperate to get back to London and finally enjoy a drink in a decent pub!
