Queens Head Harvester

Family of eight went to queens head on christmas Eve evening. seated promptly and drinks sorted by excellent waitress. used salad cart, very well stocked and waitress took main orders, food served and all commented on how good it was. desert order taken and served by same waitress. very polite and smiled all
packed but manager relaid tables as the came empty and sat new patrons, all very smooth and professional. one of the best visits we have had there. thank you to the staff for making the evening go so

Just shocking in later times.
Service is very slow start to finish.
Everything takes ages and food is below par.
Salad cart usually empty or wilted and car park has room for about 20 cars which is often a nightmare.
It’s a shame as it used to be a great place to eat

Harvesters have gone way down hill! We went here last week and the menu is rubbish, even the salad bar was not as good as it used to be. Parking is a pain in the arse, we won’t be going back. Oh one good thing, the nachos where good.

As Harvester’s go this one is actually pretty good. Often a wait on tables but the time they quote is normally way longer than you end up waiting.
Food is good — my favourite is the BBQ Chicken stack. Yum. Can’t beat the free Salad Bar and bread rolls too. Service is sometimes a little slow though.
If you join their mailing list they send voucher’s for a free ‘Sundae Best’ on a fairly regular basis and the early bird menu is a really good deal too. Meals ranging $ 4.99 — £7.49 Served 12−10pm every day. A few times my husband and I have done this and got a 3 course meal each for £15 total including free Pepsi refills! Bargain.
Of course they also have a full bar which is separate from the restaurant so you can just chill with a Beer or glass of Wine too.
Parking is hard to get on busier nights though and they don’t take reservations unless it’s a large group for a special occasion and even then it’s not guaranteed.

what a dump! since the new manager took over, the place has gone down hill.1 barmaid to serve the bar area, and the restaurant, which usually means a 20 minute wait just for a drink! empty glasses all over the tables, and on more than 1 occasion they didn, t have any pint glasses or half pint glasses! 20 minutes to be told sorry we are out of glasses! what a joke! you can never find the manager to complain, because he is either on holiday, having another day off, or refuses to talk to the customers and disappears up to his gratis flat! if you want reasonbly priced food, and a drink in under 20 minutes, i suggest you go elsewhere!

Sadly recent experiences at The Queens Head have soured my review. The service was terrible and the waitress had a bad attitude.
I used to like it (being one of the Harvester chain) because I enjoyed the salad cart and generally, the meals were good and extremely reasonably priced. Unfortunately this hasn’t been the case of late.

I must say this is one of my favourite places to go for a bite to eat.
You can go to the front and there is a bar, where you can order food or just have salad cart. If you go through to the restaurant you can have a wide selection of food, and you can see the chef cooking it. If you go before 6pm you get an Early Bird (which means all food is ¹⁄₃ off of the price) and when the food is this cheap as it is. You can get Chicken and Ribs with Chips and a Salad Cart for about £8. You can’t argue with that.
It is a country style restaurant and the waitress’s are very friendly
