One of the twn’s best-loved eateries, The Settle is known for it’s authentic, traditional tea-room style lunches and it’s roaring log fires in winter. Cosy and cute, all the food is home-cooked and the range of pastries, cakes, teas and snacks on offer is top quality. Not a cheap option, it should be noted, but definatately a great place for Ladies who Lunch to stop after a heavy mornings shopping. Great for taking out of town friends and relatives as well for a real treat. As well as morning coffee and afternoon tea, it’s also fully oicensed for evening meals, and a three course meal can beenjoyed at liesure here. Agai, not cheap, but for real old-world charm it’s a must-do.
