Siam Orchid

Situated only a stones throw from the sea, this traditional Chinese/​Asian, restaurant looks the part, from statues of dragons, to a bamboo covered bar with bonsai tree adorning it top.
The menu has a large selection of the usual suspects from hot and sour soups to a whole peeking duck. The food tastes great and dinners often get prawn crackers and fortune cookies at no additional expense.
The staff are always smiling and you can usually walk straight in (sometimes even on a Saturday) and get a table. The prices also mean two can dine out for under £40 including drinks which is great news if you are on a budget.
Overall, it does look a little dated but with friendly staff and unsurprising dishes you know what you are getting and you can just enjoy yourself.
