Serene Fish & Chips

Just tried their famous portions with garlic sauce! Despite being very healthy I could not resist the chips as they were very tasty!

This place is so super-​awesome! I don’t treat myself to chips too much but these squishy ones are my absolute fave. My bro took me here the other day when I was in need of a pick-​me-​up. We shared one portion with their amazing garlic sauce (home made!) and were happily full. They have deffo upscaled the place since I was there last — and there are pics inside of Prince Charles and Boris Johnson enjoying the chippy too! Will come back again and again: D

I have to say I was really impressed. My friends had said it was good for years. You can sit in which is more expensive or take away which is cheaper. We sat at an outside table on a good day and had the kebab which was superb with our choice of salad. There is an array of lovely salads to choose from. I’d definitely recommend you try this. You’ll be back again I bet. Also friendly staff. I will go back soon.

Very nice and clean restaurant. Pleasant staff and food is delicious. Delivery is always on time.

24 years ago I met the current owner when he just took over, and it was my local fish shop at lunch time from school
He was polite and friendly then and still is polite and friendly after all these years

Really Great for Fish And Kebabs, I have been going here for over 25 years during which time it has changed hands a couple of times but still maintains the fresh well sourced products that put it in a totally different league to it’s local competitors. Top marks if there were Michelin Stars for Kebabs this place would certainly have a couple

This has to be the best kebab takeaway house in the area!
They have won many awards based on their foods.
Although they sell fish, I think their kebabs are top notch.
The small portion is very big anyway, but you also get a big helping of salad to go with it.
The delivery service is good too. Normally they say about 30min wait, but during the week, our food arrived in about 10mins.
Thoroughly recommended.

Serenes is a great place for take-​away food however there is a lot of space to sit in there and eat. They sell fish burgers and chips and fish which taste really good. Their prices are quite cheap. They sell a variety of foods to chose from and is a great restaurant.

Talk about eating my words! I wrote a less than favourable review for Serene’s in 2008, which I now retract. The food is great, without a doubt the nicest kebabs in the area. The salads are generous, original, delicious and there’s enough variety on the menu to please differing tastes (even those on diets– Serene’s offers grilled choices). I was basing my experience in what must have been previous management because there are no comparisons on how the food used to be to how it is now. As an added bonus is that they are incredibly polite when taking your telephone order and the delivery man actually smiles when you open the door! A BIG thumbs up from me.

Well I must say that it has the best take out fish and chippy sort of food! however charging those extra pennies for extras that should come with meals is a bit annoying. Like I had to pay 10p extra for another drink if i wanted a meal. only coke would have saved me my 10p! But am just picking out really minor things because the overall service is usually really friendly! u just have to be really clear in what u order and they definantly remember u if u are regulars! they also have evening delivery service which is handy! u can sit there and eat also and the service is pleasant. it gets busy during lunch and evenings and with schools nearby its bound to get busy! the food is made i would say at good speed. u have to remember its not so called fast food! their serene wraps are lovely! and so are the quarter pounder burgers! its a highly recommended place!
