Best bacon butty I’ve had so far in Edinburgh. There I said it — very reasonably priced too at around £1.60 and a little cheaper for sausage barms too(or rolls or whatever they’re called) clocking in at one fifty. It’s better in my mind to grab and go from here than sit in; the big breakfasts don’t seem all too inspiring to me(no haggis?!) and push ever so slightly more towards«expensive» than they should — there is a very nice drinks cabinet though with a Lipton green tea for every Coke and a Rubicon for every Fanta; undoubtedly a good thing if those beverages float your boat, there’s also a good selection of cakes but saying that it’s NEXTDOOR to Le Marche Francais which has much better stuff on offer. It’s not massively huge so there isn’t a whole fat lot of room to sit in if you’re with a big group but saying that I’ve never had an issue getting a table when I have been with people. The staff are lovely and the wait isn’t ever too bad so you know… good times. But enough beating around the bush — the four stars is for the bacon butty. Easily a great place to go for some dirty cheap breakfast if you’re over the Haymarket side of town.
