One word– Beergarden. Ok, so technically that’s two words, but The Pond’s beer garden(complete with actual pond) is a brilliant size, and a great place to while away those all important drinking hours. The Pond does it’s aquatic theme very well, including the cool fish tanks inside, and I loved the atmosphere. They do have an absolutely gargantuan selection of beers and ales, and some of the more unusual ones are on tap, which is a nice change from the bog standard Tennants and Carling limits. A great pub at the foot of the walk, that should not be overlook just because it’s a little bit isolated.

Someone once told me that the Pond just next to Seafield’s industrial estate has the biggest beer selection in the whole of Edinburgh. When I finally got round to going, as it is off the beaten track next to the unofficial red light district. It certainly does have a fine range! From strawberry and other various fruits to different types of oats and barley it is rather impressive. The interior is kitsch and quirky with old leather couches(and obviously a lot of fish!). It does has a beer qarden but it looks like a B&Q sale in the early noughties.
