I love this wee café. It’s just a simple, ‘does what it says on the tin’, friendly café. Surrounded by the behemoths of the caffeine titans this wee café has pushed on, through local support, regular customers and what appears to be a strockbridgean affinity for the antibrand. My favourite coffee in Stockbridge, not because it serves a good cup of coffee, but it serves a strockbridgean cup of coffee (and bacon sandwich).

Arguably serve the best coffee in Stockbridge.
Very small inside with a few tables (you’d be lucky to find one free… I’m yet to be so lucky).
Really friendly staff hidden behind a really high counter, those people under 5’10″ may do better looking through the display cabinet than trying to see over it when ordering!

I work down in Stockbridge and have started popping into café plum for a take away soup and sandwich every lunchtime. It is great value and the fillings are gourmet! — Everything is fresh and prepared at the counter for you. They always have two soups and I never know which one to pick! An excellent little café.

I often go to Café Plum and they have the most delicious cakes. Their fruit loaf is really out of this world!
The service is friendly and although the café is small I always feel welcome and never rushed.

Under new ownership, although from what I can tell, the new owner is friends with the old one. The café has been recently redecorated, and looks very nice. It’s very small, with only 3 tables and a few barstools by the window.
I had a brie, bacon and cranberry panini. It was very generously filled, and actually tasted of brie rather than generic cheese. While it was slightly more expensive than I would have liked, when it arrived I was very pleased and felt I got value for money! I can’t stand stingy sandwiches, especially when it costs pennies to be more generous.
The tea and cake selection looked great, but unfortunately I didn’t have time to sample it.
Will definitely be back.
