Homebase is quite good, I think they try to position themselves not towards the serious DIY’er but in the middle of decorations with some DIY and try and sell everything in between.
The store looks a little dated, and with B&Q over the road, I’m surprised it does so well, as it can be expensive and not stock what you need all the time.
The 10% days and gift vouchers I get are probably the only reason I come back to Homebase!

Homebase is a bit of a mixture as it incorporates a range of DIY, gardening, lighting, homeware including some furniture and kitchen displays and at Christmas time has plenty of lights and artificial trees to choose from. The store sometimes seems to lack a staff presence and I have had trouble finding someone to help me in the past. Has trolleys available outside. There is a limited range of stock for DIY as this only fills about half the store. Nevertheless, useful for picking up the odd tin or paint, uplighter or curtain pole.
