After wanting to visit for ages, we finally made a date to eat here and stuck to it! It wasn’t really busy when we arrived(about 19.40) but we wanted to wait for a booth which they didn’t mind us doing. The booths were lovely and felt much more private than the tables, so I would recommend asking to sit in one of those. I don’t know if its normal for here, but we did have to wait a while before our drinks and food order were taken(together), and my food arrived before my milkshake! However, our waitress was lovely and happily adjusted burgers to suit our tastes. My chocolate milkshake was amazing and could easily serve two people(I took half home with me, which I ended up drinking in the car!). We ordered three sides to share between two people, and with the burgers it added up to a very stuffed me!

When it opened, it wasn’t quite as good as it should have been. I returned on Saturday and it was vastly improved. Our waitress was very nice and the burgers and fries were just about right. The shake was suitably gloopy, everything we needed was dealt with promptly. No complaints whatsoever.

I absolutely love this place! It has a great atmosphere and a really quirky feel about it! I’m a sucker for the classic«Byron Burger», and normally go for a medium cooked burger, and they always come out fantastically well. The staff are friendly, the waitresses and waiters are always really cool and have a chat with me. One of them has a moustache too, which is pretty epic. I work very close to this restaurant, so I do check in quite often. I’m amazed at what they’re doing for Movember this year, because it shows a business that cares. If you don’t know exactly what I mean, check out their website! Finally, check out the malt milkshakes, they’re possibly the best milkshakes I’ve ever had! And they do take-aways as well. Just order what you want and ask for it to go, and they’ll bag it up for you!

It was Friday night, and the wife and I were off to Bluewater shopping complex. Now under normal circumstances I would of kicked up a right fuss(Friday night is pub night) but I knew there was light at the end of the tunnel, and that light was a burger at Byron’s. After a hour of walking around, the wife and I were ready, it was time to get our munch on, we walked in and were greeted by a really friendly front of house manager, the first thing we noticed was the familiar Byron décor. We took our seats and browsed the menu, the waitress came over and took our drinks order, I went for the boilermaker, a Steel Toe Stout from Ska Brewing and a Four Roses Single Barrel, and the wife went for their Chocolate Milkshake. The stout was good, a nice bitter milky chocolate taste, which went well with the sweet bourbon. The wife was very impressed with her Chocolate Milkshake, nice and thick and dreamy. We were off to a good start, it was now time to order our food, I went for their Summer special, The Californian, which was a 6 oz hamburger, guacamole, pickled red onion, dry cure bacon, shredded iceberg lettuce all served in between a nice glazed bun, my sides were hand made skin on chips and mac ‘n’ cheese. The whole meal was looking impressive, where do I start? I went in for the mac ‘n’ cheese first, the burnt cheese was tempting me in, my first bite was met with a nice cheesy hit, ummmm, the only gripe I had was it was a touch dry, but it tasted good, really, really cheesy, so off to a fairly good start. Next I hit the chips/fries, nice, soft and fluffy. My taste buds were up and running, so it was time to taste the ‘Californian’. I took my first bite, I was greeted with the crunch of the red onion and the dry cured bacon, the next taste to come through was the beef mixed with the guacamole, now I have never had guacamole with a burger before, but I will be re-visiting it again some time soon as it was a really good flavour, and was a good substitute for the cheese, it was a really great burger, upset that it will be disappearing at the end of August, so get in quick folks.

Amazing service from our waitress, unfortunate the chef’ wasn’t. Asked for medium rare, and got seared beef burger. Sent it back and got cremated beef burger. Plus a bit of attitude on the side. Won’t be going back. On the plus side they took mine and my sister’s main meal off the bill to apologise. And her beef burger was apparently lovely.

Tried this place for the first time today and was really hopeful with the promise of a ‘proper’ burger. If you judge a burger joint on everything but the burgers, this would get 5 stars. Great interior, super friendly and brilliant service from waitress, comfy seats, lovely chips with skin on and every condiment that you need for a burger. However… the burgers are such an integral part of the experience(well duh!) that it only gets two stars in my eyes. The chef just doesn’t know how to cook them. They recommend medium. I asked for mine to be medium — it came out medium. So far, so good.(It was a bit gristly, and not the best meat, but I ate it, so how bad could it be?) However, my sister asked for hers to be medium-rare, just a little pinker than medium. When it arrived, it was raw with the edges kissed by the grill, so it was also cold in the middle, and bacteria-friendly warm towards the edge, so completely inedible and possibly dangerous. Fine, we thought — we’ll just get another one, and the waitress was fantastic — really sympathetic and apologetic. We were happy, it happens… but 30 minutes later, a very well done, dried out burger was brought back after the chef had quite publicly disputed the sending back of the first one and made some joke at our expense. We gave up, they very kindly took both burgers off the bill(I was prepared to pay for mine, as I had eaten it) and we left. And I’m sorry to say that despite the loveliest waitress in the world doing her absolute best with a terrible chef, we won’t be going back. :-(

Great burgers, amazing craft beer selections. Easy peasy! Byron is expanding and it’s a good thing! I’ve been to a couple of their branches and this new one in Bluewater shopping centre. The staff is really friendly(even have fake-tattoos) and the service is really impressive. Makes coming here an easy choice, especially if you need some fuel before or after shopping, this is the place!
