I would actually rate this place more 3.5 but they are definitely not a 3! Fu Manchu is a short walk away from Clapham Tube and is located beneath the rail way. The place is so open and the décor very trendy. They have a menu full of amazing cocktails(£8-£10) but they have a happy hour until 7 which you should definitely take advantage of! They serve dim sum and the menu is a good size with delicious sounding dishes! The food waaaaas good with some real highlights(beef & broccoli salad), char Sui bun and venison puffs but the steamed selection just wasn’t as good. I don’t know if this is a reflection of taste however both my friend and I didn’t like the texture but also though the flavours were lacking. Wednesday night they also have free live music so if you enjoy that recommend booking a table, however avoid on a Wednesday if it isn’t your thing. Service was ok — a little slow and without a smile. I would definitely go back for their cocktails and a few nibbles on a Wednesday night — a nice place to catch up with friends.

We booked a table for 13 people to celebrate Chinese new year. I booked using and called twice to make sure the bookings got in. I called again during the day of the booking to make sure that the table will be ready and they could not find my name although they still tried to squeeze me in! We didn’t get seated till around 9.30pm — very late dinner as the orders took awhile. The waiter spilt red wine, accidentally and a waitress made a face when a friend wanted to order something. I was highly disappointed. Given it was a busy Friday night, they were understaffed and disorganised. The food was average as Chinatown dim sum will definitely be better — of course and cheaper. The crowd was good, it was a bit dark and loud but then by the time we had our food, people were already dancing and the place is turning into a club. The only thing I enjoyed were the drinks and tsing tao beer!
