After reading other reviews I think I may have caught them on a bad night!
It’s been a few years since my last visit but I took my partner and friends as a special treat and was very disapointed.
The food was ordinary, and not very warm, to say the least and the service we received lacked any sort of charm.
Will prob try again sometime in the future and hope it was a ‘one off’.

Beautiful food lovingly prepared we have had some truly fabulous meals here every course is a tase sensation. Don’t expect to be fed huge portions this is a little bit subtle and brilliant for it. Has been reviewed in the observer or times and needs even more recognition. Very quiet unobtrusive service. Very special

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Chesterfield, this nice little restaurant is out of the way in a quiet location that is ideal for a quiet day out. The restaurant itself is very idyllic and quaint, I have friends in Chesterfield and this restaurant is known for its food. The head chief is renowned for food. When I last ate here the dishes were absolutely delicious, they don’t offer a massive range of food but it seems to be all well cooked from scratch. The restaurant itself is very small so its cannot cater for much but this to help create a atmosphere. This place is ideal for family’s, some may think the décor is a little dated but I think it helps maintain the original character of the building. Ideal for Sunday lunches.
