if you like underground, small, cluttered, claustrophobic places here’s the place to go. Now, lets get one thing straight… i love… and i really do mean LOVE Pizza hut. I basically lived for them during my student days, especially the all you can eat buffet. But this one is like being in pizza hut hell. Now, if you’ve read my previous reviews, you will know that toilets and moi, have a very dignified relationship. I need a nice, airy, clean pan to enjoy my time at whatever establishment. These toilets are not only tiny there appears to be a lack of oxygen in them too. All cream and stuffy i swear to got my vision got blurred and i started to see my toddler years flash before my eyes… i knew i had to get out! Now to the food. As i’ve said i’m a super huge(literally after this buffet) fan of pizza hut and seriously head there at a lunch time for all you can eat. However, this particular ‘hut’ is slow on the up keep of getting the pizza out there and te place is so small i’ve actually witnessed hungry diners start screaming at each other… no fight as of yet though but i will keep you posted! Drink re-fills(non alcoholic) are free but do be careful not to fill up on pop before you hit the buffet; fatal mistake! Anyway, i’m going to sign out now frm the large, open field i’m writing this in. Please be careful whilst entering this Hut!

If i want a pizza I will go to Pizza Express, Zizzi, Strada, Prezzo or get one from Dominos or the supermarket. Normally Pizza Hut is not on my radar because lets be honest its to pizza what Wayne Rooney is to style. It trades on its cheap and cheerful image without actually being cheap and cheerful. I don’t know why anyone would go here — unless like me you’re invited to a party and they have chosen this place. It feels dirty and the pizzas taste like plastic chemicals. I can’t understand how they still survive — in this world where there as so many decent alternatives. Next time I’m invited out to a party at this place I’ll call in sick rather than be sick from eating their junk.

Pizza Hut, a Pizza Hut, Kentucky fried chicken, and a Pizza Hut… MacDonald’s… MacDonald’s… Kentucky fried chicken and a Pizza Hut. Love your cheesy pizzas, with a crispy or a soft bread base? Can’t get a enough of them? Then go down to Pizza Hut in Cardiff cities town centre, there is so much choice, that you will not know what to choose from. The greatest thing about this place is that you can get an all you can eat pizza buffet full of many different types of pizzas to spoil your hungry appetite. You can have as many slices of a plain cheese and tomato pizza, chicken and cheese pizza, ham and cheese pizza, pepperoni and cheese pizza and many, many choices all for your craving delight to be satisfied by. You also get salads; potato and some cream or salad cream salad, Tomato Ketch-Up, Salt, Vinegar, and some lovely, creamy, plain Walls ice cream for pudding. On the bowl of ice cream you can also have Smarties, jelly beans, any strawberry or chocolates sauces of your choice and there are a fair few other choices as well. This is all for just £5! So it is well worth a visit for lunch or tea. They allow birthday parties to be held here and other hot foods and pizzas of your choice for really good prices, I warn you though the busiest hours do tend to be the lunch and evening meal hours so perhaps it would be best to go some other time of the day or to just turn up an hour or half hour early. The staff are pleasant enough and I have found that the service varies from time to time, due to how quick it can be.

Look, it’s Pizza Hut. This review won’t hold many surprises if people are looking for a culinary experience to rival all others. It does pizza. It does it quickly. It does it well. I’m a fan of awkward little shops; the kinds that are nestled beneath buildings and hidden out of sight, only accessible by three ladders and a password. I know I’m kinda of going against the grain here, but I’m not such a fan of the open air, outside view kinds of places, and this goes for restaurants as well. There’s something about looking out and seeing a street, or trees that reduces the intimacy of a meal. This Pizza Hut isn’t quite as big a secret as I’ve described, being sat at the top of Queen Street in plain view of everyone looking away from the castle, but it does have a more intimate atmosphere(intimacy? In Pizza Hut? Who do I think I am?!). The door opens onto a set of stairs that leads you beneath the street. Occasionally, a busy lunchtime will mean the queue runs to the top of the stairs, but this doesn’t happen too often. As with every other Pizza Hut, you get seated and do the Pizza Hut thing. The buffet lunch is always excellent and your eyes are always too big for your belly(but dammit, I paid £5 for all you can eat, so I’m going to eat all I can!) and it’s great for parties down there. The staff are excellent and, when not rushed off their feet, they are always on the ball regarding drinks re-fills or extra orders.

With a Pizza Express and many other fantastic restaurants around, it’s worth giving this little underground Pizza Hut(Pizza Basement) a miss.

The oddest Pizza Hut I’ve ever been in. Nestled between a couple of banks right opposite the castle its pretty easy to miss. As you enter you descend down into the basement restaurant. Naturally it’s a little bit dark and claustrophobic. Sometimes when its busy you’ll find yourself having to cue up the stairs which if you are been is pretty much a disaster waiting to happen. I usually got for buffet’s and lunch when its really quite good value for money. I don’t much rate their pizza’s or the atmosphere really so its not my first choice of stops. I think the restaurants just a bit tired now, but that being said i do always find that the service is pretty good and they are very family friendly too.

This resteraunt is conveniently located on the main shopping street in Cardiff close to the castle. Its ‘under ground’ so can seem quite dark and dindgy. Sometimes there is a long wait for a table as the resteraunt is quite small. Food is always great here and you don’t have to wait too long.

This is right in the centre of the city centre. The lunch buffet is very popular and so it can get quite busy, often queuing out of the door. The staff are friendly enough, but are always quite overworked so sometimes a bit difficult to flag down! The lunch buffet is good value for money, but the newly introduced menu is also cheap. You can get refillable soft drinks as well.

Just walking past here makes you want pizza! the smells of freshly cooked pizza is enough to draw anyone in. The pizza is always freshly made and arrives within a good amount of time. A great place to go with a small group of friends or even for a family meal The pricing varies on the type of pizza you order but is generally pretty good.

This Pizza hut is situated at the top end of the high strret towards the castle. Access is difficult(basement) and food is OK with the usual choices. The lighting is dim.

This Pizza Hut is underground! There is no lift so this is a no-go place for anyone who has difficulty managing stairs. It is below one of the main shopping streets in Cardiff so it is very centrally located. It is very popular with families as the staff are very child orientated. This means if you want a quiet meal, do not choose this place. The all-you-can-eat buffet offers good value to those wth large appetities. The food is always hot and freshly prepared. The staff work vey hard here and there are not enough of them for the volume of customers. There is usually a queue to get a table here, but most people are returning customers who know it is worth the wait.

Chaotic, understaffed, poor service and not a relaxed or cosy atmosphere. I’d recommend going elsewhere! Bella Italia does pizzas(inexpensively) and childrens play packs. The atmosphere is lovely and staff are attentive plus the restaurants are clean and smart.

An Italian restaurant located in city centre. It is part of a major chain but suprisingly the food was very good and well priced If you are have children there is also a childrens menu. If you are looking for an excusive little Italian restaurant then this is probably not the place for you. However, it is the perfect place to take the kids and the portions are very generous — a good stop off point when shopping and the staff were very obliging and helpful and we did not have to wait long to get served. I was surprised to find the desserts were very good and the children certainly enjoyed them.

Pizza Hut of course primarily offer an extensive(and tasty) pizza menu, but in recent times seem to have improved their pasta offerings as well as offering a selection of starters, salad bar and desserts. The prices can be on the high side unless you have either a voucher or you go at lunchtimes to take advantage of the competitively priced all you can eat buffets which I would recommend.

OK if you’re not too fussy but I think the stakes have been raised as far as sit down pizza are concerned and Pizza Hut have yet to raise theirs. Faced with the choice of a quality takeaway or a classy sitdown in somewhere like Zizzi’s or Prezzo I don’t tend to take Pizza Hut that seriously now and this branch in Cardiff is no different. OK but lacking a bit of style.

Yum Yum Yum. Good value at lunch, well worth it for the buffet especially if you’re hungry! Can now use Tesco Clubcard points to get money off.

Pizza hut are great and have an extensive menu for both pizza lovers and salad lovers alike. They offer a buffet lunch which is great value for money as its all the pizza and salad you can eat. Although pizza hut tends to be quite expensive the food is lovely.
