Golden House

I operate a rule of thumb where take-​aways are concerned, (it’s actually a golden rule, but to say that in this context is a touch cheesy)… so, my rule of thumb is, if a take-​away has plants in the window it’s likely to be a good one. It’s hardly scientific, but it hasn’t let me down yet! Golden House has got a very large plant in the window, and so somewhat inevitably, it’s a great takeaway!
Specialising in Cantonese style Chinese food is always a winner with me anyway! I’m a great lover of Chinese food, but often end up ordering Italian or Indian if there’s a vegetarian in the group. This is where Golden House comes up trumps. They do a fantastic range of substitute meat meals for vegetarians, and so everyone is happy! Best of all they deliver!
Their pricing is really competitive and the service is always excellent. I highly recommend this takeaway to everyone, (but don’t always mention the plant!)

Ive visited Golden House quite a few times, I think it probably offers the best selection of vegetarian chinese food ive come across in Cardiff (they offer mock chicken, pork, duck and beef as well as the usual beancurd and vegetable based dishes) any food ive bought from here also seems less processed more homemade than other takeaways — im pretty sure they use fresh ingrediants rather than relying on tinned stuff as much. They are also quite cheap and offer a delivery service, the staff always seem happy and chatty although the newspaper they leave in the waiting area are usually very out of date!
