Clean, efficient and amiable barber shop situated amongst the glut of gentleman’s coiffeuses that are this end of City Road. Similar to the others around here Classic Cut has a surfeit of comfy couches to park yourself on, not that they’re particularly needed here, as whenever I’ve popped in I’m usually in the chair within five or so minutes and they have either VIVA or 4Music on the tellybox. A standard dry haircut at Classic Cut will set you back seven quid, six if you’re a student, and is a bit of a bargain. One criticism though, I often ask them to leave the top alone as I like the length and every single time, each different barber I’ve had has lopped it off. I suppose they’re making my money go further, but it is a tad annoying. And yes I could say something when they’re doing it rather than going home and writing about it on the internet, but I don’t like confronting people when they’re holding a pair of scissors a few inches from my ear. But yeah a good, cheap barbers who like to keep both your time in the shop and your hair, very short indeed.

Classic Cut Gents Barber Shop is one of the many barbers shops at the city centre end of City Road. It’s warm and welcoming, with modern décor, and is also well equipped. Mohamed, the owner, prides himself on providing a well priced, prompt and professional service, but that’s not to say that there isn’t a relaxed atmosphere to the place, because there is. This is all the more surprising when you consider that Mohamed works seven days a week. But this doesn’t seem to phase him, and he’s actually pretty grateful that the recession hasn’t hurt his business as hard has it has some of the other businesses in this district. Mohamed possesses well practiced hands, his prices are really reasonable, and the opening hours couldn’t be more convenient. Highly recommended!
