These are the best fish and chips we have ever had in the UK and anywhere. When we come to London we always make a train trip out to Canterbury to have their fish and chips. Now called The City Fish Bar. Very friendly family owns and runs this place. It is really worth the trip to find such a great spot for fish and chips.

This small restaurant is hat I imagine a quick lunch to be. A short walk from Canterbury Cathedral, this small, local restaurant has a homey feel and a simple menus that will bring everyone raised in a small town a sense of nostalgia. The food is exactly what you expect from the title, fish and chips that can easily be taken on the go or enjoyed sitting down.
The staff os very friendly and it so clear they they care about the tourists and the regular customers. Definitely worth the stop if you are looking for a quick lunch place in Canterbury.

Also billig ist das nicht! Fish&Chips kosten hier mittlerweile etwa 6 Pfund dank optimaler Lage zwischen Cathedrale und Canterbury Tales. Der beste Fisch in Canterbury ist es trotzdem. Was die Chips, also die Pommes angeht, kann ich empfehlen zu verzichten, denn sie sind labrig und nicht sehr geschmackvoll. Aber der Fisch… der ist gut :)

Agree with faery81 if your walking past here you won’t be able to resist an open portion of chips! The chips are always excellent and staff friendly. Being a veggie we only have chips so price is not bad!

Best fish and chips I’ve had anywhere ever! They are expensive here so be warned but definitely worth it. In any case, you won’t be able to resist when you walk past: the smell is amazing!
