Beautiful café on the river. You’ll think you’re in Paris, the atmosphere is so real. Great food and attentive service. Prices are really reasonable and the food quality is high. I’d love to go back for dinner. Spent lunch there, sipping tea and perusing Flipboard. Very relaxing. Quite a gem in this heavily laden restaurant tourist area.

Oh I almost forgotten that I was there yesterday. Place that appears like family friendly environment offers breakfast for egg addicts. When I saw the menu, EVERY single one of them was based around eggs. Actually no. Sorry, there was one granola option… Luckily I got their lunch menu to choose from. To make the story short — I chose soup, it tasted ok, when it came to the table, it was super hot. The waitress didn’t know their menu(apparently the menu is just fresh new. yeah, right. I pretended I cannot see those old greasy stains on both sides…) Coffee was nice. Although, I’ve had better, but it perked me up successfully, so mission accomplished. Would I go there again? Probably no… There are some other much more interesting places around and Byron at the riverside…

The Rouge is a place that looks appealing from the outside as well as inside. A faux-parisian café of an era gone by. However sadly neither the service nor the quality of the food, nor the prices really justify this nostalgia. In a way Café Rouge is a bit like Montmartre today. Trying to cash in on a history that does not exist. Overall I would say it’s nice to look at, but no more.

Simple food prepared very well and served with a smile. Good value restaurant, ideal for lunch. The moules are a winner!

I visited here one busy weekday lunchtime a werk or so before Christmas and although it was packed with workers; some visitors and Christmas parties, we received a quick, friendly, polite and attentive service and the food was great. We had a special Christmas set lunch for a good price including alcohol, and there were plenty of tasty meals — as with other Café Rouge’s — that we could’ve ordered from the menu if not. Located in a handy canal side spot and conveniently close to the Jubilee line and DLR at either Canary Wharf or Heron Quays.

Central location and very reasonable prices offered(especially with the set menus at lunch and dinner, or alternatively, if you take advantage of the recent 2 for 1 voucher offers), Café Rouge is definitely a restaurant worth considering when eating in the Canary Wharf area. Some may complain that the food served is not exactly authentic French food(not that I noticed the difference), I would simply say that chances are the recipes were adapted to the local taste. Staff are generally nice, although when it gets busy during the evening, expect to have to wait a while to be served(be it ordering, getting more drinks or the bill). Overall though, given the location and the price, I cannot really fault Café Rouge.

As the picture shows, this restaurant has an ideal location. I would recommend it on a sunny weekday or weekend afternoon/evening. Its very tranquil next to the water, even though its very popular. If you want to sit outside at peak times, you’ll find yourself waiting a while to grab a table, and I mean ‘grab’ as you won’t be the only one. We like to go for a coffee or drink at Café Rouge, and have a snack or a sharing platter. Its a nice and affordable way to relax and enjoy people’s company. Only negatives are that the service is very poor. When I went there I had a problem explaining to a Polish waitress that I wanted to see the drinks menu, and she kept on bringing me the food menu. That was an interesting experience. The service was fairly slow, but this is one of the busiest Café Rouge’s I’ve been to, so it may be to be expected. Even though the service isn’t great, on a nice sunny day it doesn’t matter. Overall, would recommend it as one of the best summer locations in the Canary Wharf area to eat.

A very nicely located restaurant with a fantastic view of Canary Wharf to offer its customers. Whether you just want a drink or a meal, café rouge can cater to you. The staff can be quite slow but will always help you. I went on a Sunday when there was good weather and other restaurants and bars around the area were packed out, but this place was quiet which was nice for us but unexpected of such a popular place generally. Maybe the slow staff had put people off?
