Benson Blakes Bar & Grill

This place was awesome. Definitely get the nachos, they serve them with a side of guacamole and an amazing chili! We came on Taco Tuesday and every taco we tried was delicious! Good beers, great service.

We just tried this place out and really enjoyed it. My husband got the Reuben roll and loved it. We also shared a sticky toffee pudding which was delicious. Plays there is a great drink menu! We will def come back here

Best cocktails in town to be sure! A bit pricey by themselves, but incredible value of bought under the 2−4−1 deal. Burgers here have been great every time I’ve been. They usually have a burger of the month too, which is a nice touch. However would only really recommend eating here when burgers are 2 for £10.

After agreeing to go to Benson Blakes with some friends, I had instant regret. I hate burgers I thought. It sounds too trendy I thought. I was surprised! The food was very good, as was the service. I truly enjoyed the experience there, and the restaurant accommodated a fairly large group with ease. If given the chance, I would happily go again. Sometimes I like when I am wrong!

Quite good. Want for lunch & had The Dragonslayer burger. Great burger. Mohitos not bad. Margarittas not good at all! But, really, bad margarittas in the English countryside isn’t necessarily that unexpected, is it?
Service was spectacular. But, to be fair, the burgers are not as huge as others have posted. Their size is a function of their composition, rather than simply a huge gut bomb!

Wednesday is definitely the day to come here, just make sure you have a reservation. Really cool selection of gourmet burgers. I thought the Blue Burger was a little bland (surprising for a blue cheese burger, I don’t think the beef has any flavoring –salt, pepper, garlic powder– mixed in). My husband loved his Suffolk Black burger though. The bacon is spectacular. We will definitely come back, but probably only on BOGO Wednesdays.

Great beer selection, friendly and knowledgable staff and ver clean atmosphere. My husband and I have gone in groups and by ourselves and each time it was a great time. We go 2 – 3 times a month to eat and drink, as this is one of the best places to get a good beer. They switch their taps every week with new selections, and Beautiful Beers is right across the street. The menu is mostly burgers with fair prices and weekly specials.

The best cocktails in town. Go on a week night where they’re 2 for 1 from 5−9pm. Possibly the best Bloody-​Mary on the planet, and the Double-​Hard Bastard and the Fruity Cocktail get the all-​round thumbs up.
They also do great burgers, but steer clear of the disappointing nachos– not much more than corn chips and cheese. Do try the Tuna Steak burger with olive tapenade– mouthwateringly good.

A really fantastic place, with excellent burgers on a massive menu, with monthly specialties, all sourced locally so they told me from the butchers and bakers literally across the street.
Most recently the Star Wars burger was one of the best burgers I have had in the UK, I really wish they would put it on the menu permanently.
This place has such a great atmosphere, service and food, I have been at least 4 times, and it is the number one place to take visiting friends and family, especially with there large array of ever changing world wide beers to try!
Also free wifi and two for one cocktail happy hour… good for writing reviews, or posting pictures on Facebook respectively :)

Excellent menu for burger lovers. There are also a number of other options I’ll be going back to try. Of all the places in Bury, I’m going to chalk this up as my number one suggestion for dinner to new-​comers. The price and the quality for what they serve has yet to be matched by anyother establishment in this town.

A caveat: the burgers are as good as they get in Britain. Out in the pubs you can expect a beef burger to include ground pork and these days maybe even horse (we always said the beef tastes like donkey.) But not this place: the burgers are great, service is friendly and attentive. The missus had a chicken skewer that was the moistest she’d ever had. So when in Bury… stop in at Blakes.

Probably my #1 place for burgers in Suffolk county. I haven’t ate a better burger since Benson and Blakes. I have ate my fair share living in England for the past 2.5 years and been around to pubs, I always try a burger, but haven’t been impressed.
This burger place has burgers down to a T.
I love their burger Wednesday deal, two burgers and two chips for 10 pounds. You can also add sweet potato fries for 25 pence.
They also have a nice selection of beer and the wait staff is very friendly. I always have a pleasurable experience dining here and I often go on all days of the week because some days I can’t wait till burger Wednesday to get my burger on.
They have many burgers ranging from beef, chicken, vegetarian (chick pea, hummus, falafel, sweet potato concoction), mushroom, chirizo, and tuna. Also many variations of the like.
I’ve recently tried the chick pea, hummus, falafel, sweet potato burger and I must say it is my favorite right now at Benson Blakes. I hope to try a new burger each time I dine so I can say I’ve tried all their burgers.

I miss Burger Wednesdays! (2 burgers with chips for 10 pounds… which is about 50% off.)
This place is the best. Excellent burgers, delicious sweet potato fries, and great beer selection. Service is friendly and atmosphere is laid back and comfortable.

Delicious and very juicy burgers! I got the mushroom swiss and it was excellent. The flavor of the beef, the bun, along with garlic & basil aioli made for a great and extremely filling meal.
On Burger Wednesday, you can get two burgers and two chips for 10 pounds.

I was happy to find a sit-​down eatery in the market area that doesn’t revolve around a deep-​fryer. Freshly prepared food and they know the meaning of «medium rare» for steaks. Nice skylight in dining area.

This may suit all ages. My aged friend and I went in to share a platter meal of bread, cheeses, olives and salad. Good looking menu of cooked meals as well. The staff is helpful. An upstairs room looks right for many purposes. The Theatre Royal Writers hope to stage some script-​in-​hand readings there soon.
