This is Indian dining at its very finest. I have been coming to Anoki ever since the first restaurant opened in 2003, since then the brand has won some of the highest accolades and awards in the country, and it’s easy to see why! The Anoki experience starts the moment you step through the doors, the service is first class, all the waiters wear traditional dress and treat every single customer like royalty. The word ‘Anoki’ is Urdu for ‘unique’ and this is reflected in the highly creative menu, each dish has been carefully designed to be unique, distinctive and incredibly special using only the finest ingredients. The Goan Sea Bass is one of my all time favourites, flawless presentation and the aromatic sauce perfectly complementing the delicate flavour of the fish. I cannot recommend any of the 3 Anoki restaurants(Burton, Derby, Nottingham) highly enough.

Simply fantastic. I last dined here in September 2014, but have eaten here numerous times before. A friend and colleague of mine lives down the road in Rolleston. If you don’t like curry, don’t worry. The chef will come out and ask you your tastes, and make something you will enjoy. The service is always spot on. This is expensive, so save it for a special night out.

Used the Anoki a number of times. Always had great service. As we don’t like eating late, we always go at 6:00pm. The service is really good and the food is brilliant. Whenever we invite friends the waiters are always so helpful with their advice. A really great place. Try it, you won’t be dissappointed.

friday night date night and our valentines treat. It had to be something extra special. I’d heard numerous times how amazing this restaurant was and everybody raves about it, so we decided it would be the perfect place to go, and we also had high hopes of seeing a celebrity, who could hopefully pay for our meal, as robbie williams had done previously for customers, however this didnt happen to us. when we got there, we were greated and seated immediatly by waiters who were traditionally dressed which gave a good authentic feel, and our service was exceptional. Our seats were pulled out for us and we had drinks almost immediatly after we ordered them. we were instantly very impressed with this service. we choose the set meal option. This was £22.00 per head(very pricey) but when the food came we realised it was deffiently worth the money. For our starter we had a selection of onion bajjis, lamb sheek kebab and a tikki chicken with salad. we both agreed this was probably the best food we’d tasted and we would of been happy with just having the starter, but after that they brought us, 2 or 3 currys, vegtable currys, bom bay potatoes, rice and garlic and plain nann. after they brought us this a waiter told us they would be happy to refill any bowls. we were very impressed with this because we love to eat lots of food. We didnt take them up on this offer because the amount of food we had was fantastic and the currys wernt overly spicy which is good as we dont like spicy food, were spicy enough in other ways if you get what i mean ;) the atmosphere and surroundings were clean and exceptional and im deffiently going to go again. i also want to try the Itallian thats owned by the same owners as it has an even better reputation. i would deffiently sey this restaurant is our favourite by far.

I have just got home from Anoki Burton on Trent, a treat booked well over a month ago for my husband’s brthday. Sooooo many people have told me how amazing the ‘Anoki’ brand in general is, their ethos centering on incredible customer service, a fine dining experience and fantastic surroundings. The reviews in here and other similar sites say the same thing. So maybe I am just VERY unlucky or something! Although I had booked well ahead as I had been advised it gets very busy, I called again today to explain that it was my husband’s birthday and I would really appreciate a ‘quieter’ table, i. e not next to a huge party table for 20 or something! The girl I spoke to agreed this wouldn’t be an issue, took the details of my booking and told me she was sure we would be looked after very well. On arrival, the place was packed as expected, but not so much noisy as atmospheric which was fine. Yes, the waiters all looked lovely in their traditional dress, but I do think people writing these reviews get so hung up on this deail, they forget what’s really important in a restaurant! We were greeted at the door and swiftly passed to someone else who was supposed to know what was going on. I barely had a chance to give the details of our booking when we were ushered to the bar where we stood for a good 10 minutes before being acknowledged. Finally, we were begrudgingly asked what we wanted to drink. Cobra in HUGE bottles only, so you’re screwed if you’re driving! Another 10 minutes later we were seated, clearly at no pre-booked table, but when my husband asked where we were sitting the waiter said«where do you want?» When I explained politely I had called ahead and asked for a quieter table, he simply laughed and said if we wanted ‘quiet’ we shouldn’t come out on a Saturday night… Not the ‘amazingly attentive, fantastic customer service’ we’d been told about so far! Once seated(in the main area of the restaurant might I add rather han the quieter area near the bar), they started to re-lay the tables next to us and push them together into… you’ve guessed it, one lomg table of 20! Although in the end the noise of the restaurant as a whole far exceeded the large table next to us, it was the principal of this that annoyed me the most. Why even say we would be seated somewhere quiet and then do exactly the opposite? they clearly hadn’t even looked at a booking sheet! The food(rather an aftertought by this point) was good. That’s it… nothing special, not amazing, we’ve had much better. Mostly really well presented. The service? Again, mediocre. Had the staff been more attentive, they would have sold us many more drinks, dessert and coffees(since our drink at the bar we were not asked if we would like any more drinks all evening). This restaurant is very much ‘cattle class’-get them in, and then out again QUICKLY so we can refill the space. To complete the experience, we asked for coffee and were offered mango, pistachio or something else we didn’t understand. Afetr asking the young girl to repeat the choices TWICE and confirm that we had asked for coffee, not icecream(which is what we thought these flavours were!) she repeated them with the most annoyed tone! In the end we asked for the bill and left instead. £60 later, i’d say go to your local Indian and get better service and equally nice food for less than half the price!

Expensive, food to die for, would not use it regularly, but fantastic for that very special occasion. Waiters dressed in traditional Indian costume adds to the occasion

Anoki Burton is situated on the southbound A38 between Willington and Burton on Trent. It replaced the Mumbai Blue and has quickly gained a great reputation. Access and exit can be tricky, especially when the A38 is busy. The car park is large, but fills quickly, so it probably would be advisable to book. The inside décor is a wonderfully opulent mix of modern and traditional décor, with natural light bathing the restaurant as the sun goes down. The waiters are dressed in immaculate ceremonial dress and cannot do enough for you, without being too pushy. Our party swelled from an initial booking of 11 to 19, and they took it all in their stride. As we were in a big party and dining before 7.30pm, we went for the party menu at £22. The meal began with an endless supply of poppadoms and a variety of six sauces, some sweet, some powerfully spicy, a good start. The starter itself was beautifully presented, with two types of chicken, an onion bhaji and sheesh kebab, that left me grabbing for the water, tasty though. Mains included a couple of chicken and lamb dishes, as well as tadka daal and bombay aloo, pilau rice, with three types of naan: plain, garlic and peshwari. Overall a great set meal, good variety, very tasty and filling. The only aspect that limits regular visits to Anoki is that if you choose from the menu after 7.30pm, the meal can inordinately expensive, for a meal for two you would not see much change from £80. When there are Indian restaurants in the area that serve similar quality food for a fraction of the price, a visit to Anoki Burton may have to be an occasional treat. Takeaways are half price before six though.
