The women’s clothing sections were amazing, dresses, overalls, rompers, booty shorts, shrugs, micro kilts and all other style of item in one of a kind, brilliantly colored, UV-reactive patterns. Sizes fit a bit slim, so definitely try on before buying. The men’s department was a little less inspiring, consisting mostly of t-shirts, albeit some interesting ones.

They have a good range of false eyelashes in here, including my favourite one’s at a reasonable price. I was in London yesterday, came across my fave eyelashes and was going to stock up as I am always losing them but they cost £2 more than at Twilight Fashions. Decided to wait and support Bristol retailer instead ;-) Its also a great place to get some interesting tights. As for the fashion. well if you’re into fairy wings or a moody hormonal teenager expressing goth angst you will love it. Happily the staff are not moody and angsty but helpful and friendly. Ever been to Cyberdog? The cyberpunk staff think they are so painfully fashionable and with it and not very friendly so its nice that I can rock up to this shop looking all normal in my work clothes and the staff are friendly and helpful.

This shop, located in the covered market area of St Nicks, is a great place to go to relive fond memories of thrashing about in my bedroom to ‘angry’ music, writing some God-awful poetry and behaving like a moth to a light bulb when it came to black clothes. Thankfully those times are long gone but it doesn’t mean that this shop is obsolete, far from it. Not only does Twilight Fashions service Bristol’s best dressed Goths and Emos, it also caters for clubbers, metal heads and anyone interested in ‘alternative fashion’. Twilight stock Stargazer make-up which is becoming increasingly difficult to find on the high street(think neon pink eye shadow and nail varnish) as well as really vivid hair dye, the name of which evades me but is awesome for making an impact — the stuff you get on the shelves of Boots doesn’t even come close! As well as make-up there is a large range of studded accessories, clothing and wall art to bring out your inner Goth.

It’s very difficult to define a shop as wonderfully colourful and diverse as this one, especially when the very pleasant lady who owns it expresses such a dislike for putting names on boxes. It is, I suppose, an alternative fashion shop, in one word. In another it is clothing predominantly for those who would be categorised as being a Goth. I think I’ve skirted around the title sufficiently avoiding any libel or stereotyping. Inside the crammed but enticing store expect to find a good array of leather coats(fitted to the ankle), generally black T shirts and tops and a good range of lipsticks and accessories. Two selling points that cannot go without being mentioned are the broad range of make ups(apparently incredible for the shop’s size) and what I am told is the greatest selection of different tights(wo)man has ever seen. With over sixty pairs in a shop the size of a large garden shed — how can you possibly walk past? This is a wonderful little shop and well worth the visit if only once.

A walk past Twilight Fashions is likely to bring back memories of misspent youths spent at festivals, or attempting to relive the days of Johnny Rotten. You may be put off by the neon colours, the gothic window displays or the black painted unit but the friendly approachable staff are sure to put you at your ease. Not just for teenagers — this little market shop has plenty to offer; nail varnishes, hair dyes and a whole host of pretty silver jewellery. Unless you have a passion for punk you possibly won’t get a great deal from Twilight Fashions, but a browse around its black and purple shelves and you may just find a pair of stockings, or studded belt that tickles your fancy.

Billed as a goth/fetish shop with appropriate black exterior and witch-like font, you’d be forgiven for scurrying past this little market shop. But woah there ladies, it is actually a very useful place whatever your street style. Modern vintage vixen? They have a great stock of seamed stockings. Neon clubber? A smörgåsbord of nail varnishes. Pretty punk-ette? Pick and choose your next hair colour here.

Found in St. Nicholas Market, this small shop caters to the alternative crowd, especially goths and emos. They have a wide selection of clothing, jewellery, and make-up to allow you to dress to impress. Lots of velvet, PVC, chains, stripy tights, hair dye and spiked collars, as well as some more unique items fill this shop. A fun place to visit and perfect for finding something for the alternative crowd.
